The Salomon STH 16 is a high-DIN, low-profile expert freeride binding with a steel housing and Salomon's legendary omni-directional toepiece. Micro Simultaneous Wing adjustment lets you dial the front contact points to precisely match your boot shape, eliminating slop that can cause pre-release or, even worse, no release at all. Wider underfoot profile increases leverage over wide skis.

Bottom Line: Heavy metal rocker.

They do come in a 130mm. If you go into your local shop they usaully have a 130mm brake if you mount them there. If you have a 120 mm ski you can stretch the 115 no problem.

They DO come in a 130 also. Wait for them to get those. They are only temporarily out.

Salomon makes a 130mm brake, you might have to call backcountry to see when they will have them again.

Hey Jason,

These come in a 90, 100 and 115mm brake width. Yes you would need a wider brake for something that large.

Not all DINs were created equal

And the Sth16 DOES what every other binding TRIES to do. I need a binding that I know will not let me down, and I so that's why I've skied Salomon Driver bindings for pretty much my whole life. Salomon's have been the long time favorite of hard core skiers everywhere because of their hassle free, bomber performance. The Sth gives you top of the line performance at a very reasonable weight.

Backcountry says this binding is 5 pounds 12 oz. I just bought a pair for my bentchetler's and compared to the 4 pound 8 oz. sth driver 14 they felt very identical in weight. The 16 just felt a bit heavier. They aren't really 5 pounds 12 oz are they?

Durable, strong bindings

I love the feeling of security I get from these bindings. The toe piece seems to wrap around my boot better than some other bindings I have used. When you step in you can feel them clamp you right to your skis, which is a feeling I love. I also like that they are pretty bombproof, I need bindings that hold up to abuse, which is where these shine. I use these on my pow sticks as they can handle Alpine Trekkers better than a lot of bindings that employ the longer heel pieces. A great binding for experts who need to be locked down, and expect durability. I recommend these to just about anyone who is in the market for higher din bindings.
