Awesome Shoes

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I ordered these shoes for my 9 year old daughter. Yes, her feet are that big and yes they are a bit pricy for a 9 year old who is still growing (thank goodness for sales). However we live on a sub tropical island and we do a lot of hiking and jungle trekking so she needed something sturdy that we knew could handle the kind of adventures we go on. She has worn these up slippery, muddy hills and on sandy beaches and these shoes have not let us down! She loves that they have aggressive soles and that they are "squishy" inside. The whole family have a pair of Salomon's and we will definitely keep investing in these shoes for our outdoor adventures.

I want another pair! : )

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:True to size

I laced up and took the kids and dog to "the ledges" to hike. My shoes fit perfect, they were nice and comfortably snug, I was excited. At the ledges there's dry dirt trails, muddy dirt trails, leaf covered trails, mossy rocks to climb up and down on, through or around. Whether I was walking, running, or jumping from rock to rock I felt good, there's plenty of cushion and the bottoms keep me pretty secure. I was truly amazed! I can't wait to go hiking again!

Comfortable and great traction

I got these shoes for the Tough Mudder event I'm doing in a couple months, and as such I ordered a half-size larger for my likely-to-be-swelling feet. That said, they fit really well , and I'm not tripping around despite the slightly extra length. They have great traction and are excellent trail shoes. Neither grit nor grime nor sand nor sticks have snuck their way inside during trail runs -- which is HUGE.

Excited to run the trails!

  • Fit:True to size

Just got my pair yesterday, and wore them around the house for a while. If they're as comfortable on the trail as they were around the house I'm golden! Great fit (true to size), and light weight. I can't wait until this weekend to hit the trail!

never disappointed!

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I hope they never discontinue this model!!!! my last pair lasted for two years, and as always, I am completely happy with another well made pair of shoes by salomon!!!! I have a narrow heal and wider forefoot, they fit excellent

i have been a city runner for 20 years and have always run in asics. i decided to try out this solomon shoe because i needed a running shoe that could also go on trails. based on the reviews and look of the shoe, i decided it to give it a try. from my very first run, i loved it. it handles the trails and the road wonderfully. and the best part is that it is really lightweight. my foot needs solid arch support and this shoe has it. it is durable and looks good. i highly recommend this shoe.

All 'round awesome shoe!

  • Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit:True to size

First off, this shoe is extremely comfortable. The Quick Lace lacing system is very convenient and easy to use. It makes tying your shoes simple. These shoes can be used for any type of running walking on mostly any type of condition. They are extremely durable and keep they form very well. The colors of the pictures posted above are accurate. Definitely recommend it to any one looking for a durable and comfortable shoe.

Great Trail Runners

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

These are great comfortable trail runners. The color is awesome, and they wear comfortable on the first run without having to break in too much. The speed lace is nice although I have to tuck in the little gizmo back into the laces as it hits my leg. No big deal though I think I just have skinny feet. Good lightweight shoe

You don't have to tuck the lacing system back into the laces to stop it from hitting your leg. If you look a little closer at the shoes...there is a small pocket on the outside top of the "tongue" where you tuck the lacing system. Pretty neat, huh?? I love these shoes...

Cute and Comfortable shoes

I bought these shoes to wear at work. I work in a warehouse and walk on concrete all day. My feet and legs used to ache at the end of the day, which is why I bought new shoes. I'm tired at the end of the day, but my feet and legs no longer hurt at the end of the day.

Is this recommended for extreme cold...

Is this recommended for extreme cold weather?

    Best Answer

No, these shoes are not necessarily a thermal shoe by any means. Its the tread and mud guard and water resistance that is designed to handle running in snow but the shoe itself is not designed to keep your feet warm in colder conditions. How warm you stay is going to entirely depend on the sock that you wear. That being said, I love running in the snow and in colder temperatures and have been known to go out in 0 - 10 degree F weather, but its about gearing up smart and knowing how to get out of a bad situation if you need to in a hurry. So sure, you can run in these in cold temperatures just get a decent pair of socks and maybe some gators and have a great time.

Do the speedcross 3's do well on concrete?...

Do the speedcross 3's do well on concrete? I was wanting a good running shoe, however, I mainly run on good ol' concrete. I didn't know if they would wear down quickly on concrete or if they would wear just the same.

The soles will wear faster than you may be comfortable with on concrete. The contragrip compound used on the sole is relatively soft for maximum grip but that makes it less durable than harder rubbers compounds. Additionally they have really aggressive lugs that stick out and tend to be a bit more catchy on concrete which goes to exacerbate the wear problem that is inherent to the soft Contragrip as mentioned above. I'd stick to the trails with these.
