I love them! So comfy!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I bought my first pair of boots at a ski expo last year. I let some lady convince me that the Ride Sage Boa were the most comfortable boots ever. I tried them on, they didn't seem too comfy but I assumed she would know better. And I was just too excited to wait for a better fitting pair. Big mistake! My feet would go numb all the time, my heel will move up and down and overall I couldn't stand walking in them. They would make me walk in a weird stance I didn't find natural at all. One day I decided it was enough and went to a proper store to get fitted. It took me only a few pairs of boots to realize how much comfier the Salomon were. I even tried the newest Ride Sage Boa just to compare. It had the same problem with tightness and heel moving. The Salomon were perfect! I almost felt like walking in running shoes and not snowboard boots! If somebody tells you your booths have to be tight, don't listen to them! They have to be comfy! And if they are not, keep looking! I have so much room in them. When I tightened the bindings I had to check a few times just to make sure they are tight as I didn't feel the usual dead grip feeling in my toes :D I didn't have to stop half way through the trail to loosen them up and rest like usual. I took a few runs before I finally decided to give my feet some rest :) Overall the best snowboard boots I have ever tried!
It must be noted though, that the liner started bugging me after a while on the first day. It never happened after that but during that first day it gave me this feeling of having a blister above my heel. It seemed like the seam was rubbing against my socks and they were rubbing against my heel or something. It could be the socks or the liner or both just not working well together. But there is definitely an open seam on the very bottom of the heel which then switches into a hidden seam from just above the heel to the top of the liner. This bottom portion may be bothersome if you have weirdly sensitive heels like I do. But i would still take these boots to any others at this point even if I have to stuff my socks with cotton balls :D
I would highly recommend them to anyone!
P.S. I don't think they are that stiff as the other reviewer said. Compared to my Sage these are actually quite soft and responsive.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I wear a size 10 boot and these were so tight I am returning them. I don't remember my old Salomon boots being this painful to wear. There is NO bend in this boot at all.
