Lay waste to thousands of vertical feet at a time.

The Salomon Women's Idol Snowboard is packing the speed, stability, and performance needed to completely dominate every bit of rideable terrain on the mountain. The Idol's medium stiffness and hybrid Cross Profile provide the perfect platform to attack everything from the park to the backcountry, and the directional twin shape means high-speed stability, even riding switch, with no unpleasant surprises.

Get the best of both worlds from the Cross Profile, which features camber between the bindings for pop, power, and control, and rocker towards the tip and tail for float in powder. ABC (Advanced Bamboo Construction) Green Roll uses snappy bamboo strips for more pop with less plastic, and Ghost Basalt stringers and Royal Cork Rails dampen vibrations for a smooth ride. A directional twin shape gives you greater control at high speeds without compromising your ability to ride switch. The Ghost Green core uses lightweight, sustainably-harvested wood strips to keep the board lively while reducing impact on the environment.

Killer on a powder day!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This board is heavenly on a good snow day. It floats almost effortlessly over a few feet of new snow, no problem. Its stiffness was also helpful when open powder runs got fairly skied out. It ran right over all of the snow ruts that built up.

However, considering how stiff this wonderful board is, it wasn't the most fun on groomers, nor was it super easy to maneuver through steep and tight trees. But it wasn't terrible, just not as quick and nimble as a more flexy board.

Overall, I'm so in love with this board. Each time I take it out, I get more stoked with every run I take. So, if you're looking for a sturdy, fun board to use on powder days.. I would definitely recommend this one. But if you're looking for a park board or one to cruise the groomers with, this wouldn't be the best.
