    Freestyle-friendly flex.

Its light weight and low profile are the first things you'll notice about the Salomon Men's F3.0 Snowboard Boot. With a super slim, yet supportive profile, low-profile sole, and slightly softer, more freestyle-friendly flex than its brother the F4.0, this boot offers an amazing fit and feel that will keep your feet comfy from the peak to the streets.

An innovative take on speed closure, the WrapLock system features three power panels on the outside of the boot that are fused with the liner so that the entire boot forms around your foot with a single pull of the lace. Speaking of the liner, the Fusion liner has mesh channels and one-way valves that allow vapor to escape from the inside of your boot without letting moisture in so your feet stay dry. It also features Self Gel foam in the ankle area that conforms to the shape of your foot as it swells throughout the day during long sessions.

The dual-density memory foam Ortholite C3 footbed promotes blood circulation to keep your feet warm and prevent fatigue, and also has an antimicrobial treatment to help fight the buildup of foot funk. Lightweight and low-profile, the new Hi Flight outsole has enhanced flex through RPU backpads to give you the ultimate board feel without sacrificing cushioning.

    Laces are poorly made

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I agree with a previous review. These are my second pair of F 3.0 boots. I had the 2013 model which lasted just over 2 years when the lace snapped upon tightening. I was outside the warranty period, so I just said eff it, I'll buy the 2016 model. I did 5 days of riding before these laces snapped.

I just checked the Salomon line of 2017 boots, and I noticed there's no longer an F series of boots. It's probably because laces kept snapping. I'll be contacting Salomon about a warranty replacement soon, and I hope they'll be willing to give me something else besides repairing this F3.0 boot. I don't want it to break on my 5 days in again.

Stay away from this boot, even if it's on sale.

    Lacing system not durable

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Note this review applies to the 13-14 and 14-15 models.

Been a big fan over the years of Salomon boots. Pretty much my go to brand for over 10 years. I love the fit of the boots, great heel hold, smaller external size, just the right amount of stiffness for me, etc.

But the lacing system on the F3's just don't hold up. Essentially same thing has happened on two model years of these. The area by the handle, which is the lace wrapped in a small plastic tube, wrapped in stitched leather, will cause the stitching in the leather to fail. Which makes it a bit harder to pull the laces tight. This probably happens within the first 5 times of lacing.
Then later, the protective wrapping around the lace will shred, which prevents the locking mechanisms from working, and can cause the lace itself to snap. This happened to me after maybe 25 days.

Wish Salomon could figure out how to make laces that last. Or maybe go back to the older F series (ie F24) quick lace design, that is still used on the Malamute.

Seriously, WTF is wrong w/Salomon. Seems like they change their f'n laces every year and can never get it right. I take that back, they had it right on the Pledge 5 ish years ago, and then promptly changed to a new system the next year!
Glad I read this. I was thinking about trying the F3's, but when somebody complains about Salomon lacing, I f'n believe them!
It's really a shame, cuz they otherwise make some danm fine boots. End rant.
