If your 720s just don't seem to be coming around as perfect as you like, might we suggest stepping into the Salomon Men's F20 Snowboard Boot? It's not because the F20 is a magic wand for snowboarders, or anything. Instead, this high-tech boot features a fused liner and shell design that reduces weight and overall bulk for your aerials. Despite the fusion, it still maintains the ideal blend of support and flex to free your style during cornice launches, monster booters, and endless boxes.

  • Powerlace Pro features a thin yet super-strong lace with locking clips at the ankle and upper tongue to lock-down your ideal fit
  • Fusion liner-to-boot tech eliminates excess bulk to create a lower profile and to shrink your footprint by up to a half size
  • Integrated Active tongue is inserted with PU that creates a stiffer feel as you tighten the laces
  • Mystic footbed features reflexology technology to provide a massage-like feel to your midfoot to help eliminate fatigue
  • Copper outsole is 40-percent lighter than traditional rubber and features an added adiPrene compound to increase cushion

Bottom Line: Less is best.

2011s seem to be narrower than the 2009 models

By:

I have a pair of 2009 F20s which I apparently bought a 1/2 size too small because my toes end up hurting by the end of the day. I have slightly wide feet and was recommended the F20s as they're supposed to run wide, and I can say that is true...for the 2009s at least. I bought the current model (2011) in a 1/2 size bigger to fix the toe issue and they seem to run narrower than the size below them. It's obvious they changed the boot profile, they even talk about the "shrinkage" technology in the description. I had to return them just based on the fact my foot was cramped without even hitting the hill with them so I can't speak for how they perform (though the 2009 models were great).

Pros:
Stiffness is up to par with their rating
Very light

Cons:
Inner boot lock is still a pain to secure
Outer boot lace lock around the ankle is not as good at the 2009, it doesn't lock as easy when lacing
Exterior of the boot is really wide due to the redesign

So far so good!

I really have enjoyed these boots so far. I am living/working in Vail this winter and decided it was time for new boots. I previously had the Salomon F22, but wanted something a bit softer so I opted for the F20. 15 days in this season and this boot has performed up to the task. They are a bit softer than the F22, but still responsive enough that I can take them anywhere. They aren't the warmest boots of all time, but they are mighty comfortable which makes them easy to put on nearly every day. Grab yourself a pair if you are an all mountain rider looking for one boot to do it all.
