Louif and Jed's choice for urban domination.

Change the way you think about bindings with the Salomon District Snowboard Binding. It has a flexible heelcup that creates a completely new feel when riding that's more natural and responsive. Think it's a load of hype? Then you should probably know that the entire Salomon team is rocking this revolutionary baseplate, and the District is the weapon of choice for Louif Paradis and Jed Anderson when they're out redefining urban riding.

The ShadowFit baseplate features a Kevlar QuickWire heelcup, which replaces the traditional rigid heelcup with a flexible one that truly conforms to your boot when you crank down the straps. This not only makes it more comfortable and allows you to tweak harder, but it also increases response because of the continuous contact with the heel of your boot and the Kevlar wire running through it. The District highback has a unique flex pattern that allows you to tweak your blunts and methods to new levels without sacrificing support and response.

The dual-density full EVA footbed to cushions your foot from big drops and reduces vibrations when you're hauling ass down choppy runs. 3D Asym Supreme ankle straps provide pressure point-free comfort and the Lock-In Deluxe toe strap wraps around the toe of your boot to ensure it never comes loose. PowerGlide buckles engage and release effortlessly and offer security so you never have to sweat them slipping. Take part in the revolution of urban riding with the District.

    Playful and surfy

These bindings are pretty fun. My riding style is more fast and aggressive and I'm used to a much stiffer and more responsive set up. With that said, I disliked these bindings at first. I've ridden sloppier bindings, namely the Burton P1, and I liked these better. Soft bindings are much better for jibs and more forgiving when under or over rotating a spin, but they aren't the best for big lines, big booters, or anything at high speed.

I bought these bindings for late season, slushy park laps. For anything besides the bigger kickers these bindings are fine and jibbing was easier for me with this set up than my stiffer boots and bindings.

I don't feel as locked in and in control with this set up as I do with a stiff one and I think going fast feels more sketchy, but it's still manageable.

I think it's a great binding for a beginner since it's so forgiving or anyone who likes rails over big kickers or smashing big lines freeriding.

These are my go-to bindings when the snow is slushy and I'm doing park laps.

    Shadow Fit Works!

I love these bindings. The Shadow Fit heel pocket is super unique. It's flexible and gives the binding a surfy feel. The District specifically is the softest of the Salomon Shadow Fit bindings. That said I would call it a medium flex compared to most models from other brands. I wear a 9.5 Burton boot in the M and the size is spot on. Give em a chance!
