Putting "sick days" to good use.

Better save up those "sick days" this winter season when you're riding the Salomon Sick Stick Snowboard. Developed with extensive input from legendary freerider Josh Dirksen, the Sick Stick darts through freshly filled trees, slashes across wide open powder bowls, and sends stylish methods off every cliff in sight. It's what Salomon calls a tapered twin, which sounds like an oxymoron, but it's actually an apt description, as the board is centered between the contact points for switch prowess in deep snow. Maintaining buoyancy, its slight taper (8-12mm, depending on size) naturally sinks the tail, keeping the pointy nose up and floating over bottomless pow. Ultimately, this unique shape allows you to take a freestyle approach to riding deep powder and cruising around the mountain, but with extra float that's simply not possible on a traditional twin with equal nose and tail widths.

Its Cross profile combines the powerful response of camber between the feet, with rocker at the tip and tail for extra float, plus a bit of catch-free fun for buttering. And although it's primarily intended for powder riding, the Sick Stick 's camber makes it quite capable at ripping morning groomers and afternoon slush runs. Its ABC Wrapper construction replaces traditional ABS sidewalls with snappy bamboo and impact-dampening cork for a smooth ride. The Ghost Green core is lightweight and poppy, thanks to its mix of premium wood strips and lightweight sustainable wood. Additionally, the quadratic sidecut makes the Sick Stick effortless from edge-to-edge while the Sintered EG base ensures a smooth, ultra-fast glide over deep powder.

Here's what others have to say...

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I picked this board up for my first real "pow board" and wasn't dissapointed, this thing is soooo damn fun. It floats through the deepest pow effortlessly with it's tapered nose and since the inserts are set up near center you can rally switch with ease which sold me on it. I rode it on a 3 foot pow day last season, so glad I went with a 160cm .Whether you're new to shredding pow, or an advanced rider the Sick Stick has you covered.
