Works great, a little tight at first
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
After the first run they stretched and kinda of molded to my hand. I carry two bottles with me the 350 that came with it and a 500.
I run 30 - 40 miles a week and don't always want a hip pack but prefer my hand to be open and not clinched and this holds the bottle in place and is easy to use. The bite value is GREAT, way better than the others i have tried.
The larger bottle can be awkward but it works.
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I needed something to stay hydrated on 10k trail runs in the scorching Wasatch summer heat. 10k isn't a long distance but when its hot, its enough to warrant some degree of thirst. I sometimes see some racers wearing hydration packs and that seemed excessive for me. I don't like the feel of a bouncy belt and I didnt want to just run with a bottle in my hand. Luckily the fine folks at Salomon came up with this glove that works with soft flasks.
I'm 5'8, 160 pounds and the medium fits me perfectly. The soft material on the back of the glove is nice for wiping the sweat of of your forehead. The soft flask seems durable and easy to clean. While running a 10k with over 1000 feet of elevation gain, the gloves were both comfortable and functional. To take a sip you simply bite down on the nozzle and squeeze. No leaking occured and I could run with my hands relaxed and the flask was always secure. The 250ml flask it comes with was plenty for what I needed it for.
I'd recommend this product to anyone that is running 10k distances or further who get thirsty easily and don't want to be weighed down with a lot of water on their person.
Measure around the knuckles:
Small = 17-18.5 cm or 6.75-7.24 in
Medium = 18.5-19.5 cm or 7.25-7.75 in
Large = 19.25-21+ cm or 7.25-8.75+ in
Hydro S-Lab Glove Set
Got these using a pro-deal. I don't consider myself as having 'big' hands - I wear a Small/Medium glove - so I purchased a Medium. Big mistake - INCREDIBLY TIGHT, painful to wear. Had to return for a Large, such a hassle. BTW, they don't really carry the larger flask (17oz) very well...only the smaller ones.
