You'll have no excuse for delays if you're wearing the Salomon Quest Motion Fit Jacket, which is designed to move as you do, letting you get to the goods before the unwashed and undeserving masses. The nylon and elastane shell is ergonomically cut, with extra fabric around the shoulders and articulated sleeves to increase freedom of movement, and Lycra inner cuffs with thumb loops keep your sleeves from sliding up and letting snow in. There's a removable stretch powder skirt to prevent renegade snow attacks, and the Quest snaps together with compatible pants to form an even more bomber defensive layer.

Ergonomic design and powder skirts are all good, but if a jacket isn't technical, it's just a nicely-cut bedsheet. Luckily, the Quest features an AdvancedSkin 3-layer 20K waterproof and breathable membrane along with fully-taped seams, keeping you warm and dry on bluebird days or in raging storms. If you're hiking to your secret stashes, you can cool down by unzipping the underarm vents and stash your goggles in the internal mesh pocket (that comes with a goggle wipe) to keep them from fogging so you don't have to deal with the indignity of getting second tracks.
