Your partner in the quest for epic pow.
The fresh powder's only going to last so long, so your gear better not be keeping you from getting there ASAP. You'll have no such problems if you're wearing the Salomon Quest Motion Fit Jacket, which is designed to move as you do, letting you get to the goods before the unwashed and undeserving masses. The nylon and elastane blend shell is ergonomically cut, with extra fabric in the back and gusseted underarms to increase freedom of movement, and Lycra inner cuffs with thumb loops keep your sleeves from sliding up and letting snow in. There's a removable stretch powder skirt to prevent renegade snow attacks, and the Quest snaps together with compatible pants to form an even more bomber defensive layer.
Ergonomic design and powder skirts are all good, but if a jacket isn't technical, it's just a nicely-cut, snow-shielding bedsheet. Luckily, the Quest features a ClimaPro Storm 3-layer 20K waterproof and breathable membrane along with fully-taped seams, keeping you cool and dry on bluebird days or in raging storms. If you're hiking to your secret stashes, you can cool down by unzipping the underarms vents and stash your goggles in the internal mesh pocket (that comes with a goggle wipe) to keep them from fogging so you don't have to deal with the indignity of getting second tracks.

Unfortunately we don't have any of the Salomon Quest Motion Fit Jacket on order at the moment. However, they are not discontinued and we should be getting more in. Please check back with us in a couple weeks if you are still on the hunt. In the meantime I would check out the Salomon Foresight for another good option.
I Once Was a Skeptic
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
So this new guy gets brought in from Germany to the Salomon clothing department. He starts showing us this awfully colored, German race style clothing he designed. Immediately I thought to myself, "Oh shit, looks like our clothes are going to suck for the next 5 years". And then he started babbling about something about "Motion Fit" or something, I don't know, wasn't really paying attention, I was still gawking at how ugly the outfit was. But soon enough, German designer guy makes me try on the German Race Team looking jacket with so called "Motion Fit".
I reluctantly put on the jacket and then said to myself once again, "Oh shit". But this time it was in a good way.
I'd never tried on a jacket with that much range of motion yet fit properly. The shoulders looked normal but felt like I had twice as much room and movement. The chest area felt as if the jacket was specifically fitted for me, even though it obviously wasn't. The whole package felt like the single best fitting jacket I've ever put on. It was an absolute world of difference from every other jacket I've ever worn skiing. Suddenly it dawned on me that something as simple as this Motion Fit changed the entire way I felt in my ski clothes. It truly was incredible.
Ultimately I found out this German guy that Salomon hired is an incredible outerwear designer with a focus on ingenious design and luckily enough for me, those colors were just the consequence of being test products.
