If you're the type of skier who doesn't mind moving a little more weight up the skin track for more power on the descent, grab the Salomon Quest Max BC 120 Alpine Touring Boot. This do-it-all boot comes in a 120 flex for resort-crushing stiffness that you can take to the backcountry. In order to lighten up the Quest Max BC, Salomon used Pebax on the lower shell, which is lighter version of polyurethane, then they lightened up the heat-moldable liner for even more savings, and utilized three aluminum buckles to strike a balance between rigidity and weight.



Compatible with tech bindings and standard alpine bindings, the Quest Max BC comes fitted with AT soles, but Salomon also included DIN soles if you need them to pull double duty between your touring and resort setups. The extended rubber sole wraps around the edges of the sole to protect the shell of the boot from scuffs and scrapes while hiking. The 50mm power strap offers hard-charging power, and the Backbone+ technology only adds to the power of these burly AT boots. However, the driving force behind these boots is the 24mm oversized pivot, which is designed to increase the power transmission of the boot and help lay wider skis on edge.
