    Brighten up your ski day.

The mid-fat and versatile Salomon Women's Q-96 Lumen Ski was made to rule the groomers. And the trees. And bumps. And powder. OK, it's the queen of pretty much everything it surveys, thanks to its mid-fat 96mm width, edgy underfoot camber, and moderately rockered tip and tail. The rocker—Salomon calls it Utility Rocker—makes short work of boot-top powder and rough snow, while the camber bites into hardpack for reliable edging, even on refrozen groomers and early-morning ice. The raised tip lets you turn on a dime in tight trees and bumps, and the honeycomb tip reduces vibration and works with the semi-sandwich construction (ABS sidewalls underfoot with cap construction in the tip and tail) to keep the Q-96 lighter than a feather and nimbler than an ermine. Add in a lively and energetic wood core and a smooth hook-free taper tip and tail, and it's easy to see why the Q-96 is one of the most fun and versatile women's all-mountain skis out there.

    Great all mountain ski

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

These were my go to ski for the '14/'15 winter here in Utah. With a lack of snow, I spent most of the season cruising groomers and these skis did an awesome job carving and keeping stable at faster speeds.

This year, '15/'16, I set the new version up with Dynafit 2.0 Radicals and am using this as my backcountry set up. They are super lightweight and I have put them in a variety of snow conditions and have yet to be disappointed. I prefer a fatter ski for big pow days, but these are reliable in really every situation. This shape of ski, rocker-camber-rocker, is my favorite to ski in every day. These are super reactive and stable with the wood core.

The only drawback to these may be the chatter that can happen at faster speeds. It doesn't really worry me and I still feel in control, but the honeycomb tips do sometimes shake when you are hauling down groomers.

I'm 5'4", 130lbs. an advanced skier and I got these in the 162cm

    Great all mountain ski
