Today classic, tomorrow skating.
- A flexible forefoot allows for easy classic kicking
- Attach the removable, supportive Energyzer cuff to provide lateral support and stability when you switch into skating style
- Sensifit technology gives you a precise and comfortable foothold when you glide down the track
- A Combi flex midsole supplies the right balance between forefoot rolling and torsional rigidity needed to perform both skating and classic
- Quicklace (one-pull lacing system) provides a snug and secure fit

I bought these to replace a set of older classic boots, and am very pleased. They are very comfortable. The control and confidence over conventional boots is amazing. Highly recommended. They do seem to run large though. I normally wear a 48 and ended up using the 47, and I even have those tightened as tight as they go. I probably should have ordered a 46, but I have already used the 47s a couple times. I do find using the zipper and pulling the velcro front flap tight under the upper strap kind of cumbersome, though. Overall very happy.

Any chance these come in a size 16? My current salomon active 8 classic is a16 and fits great. I'd like a combi or a skate in a 16 if possible. Thanks
I AM LOOKING FOR A WIDER BACK COUNTRY SKI...
I AM LOOKING FOR A WIDER BACK COUNTRY SKI FOR BREAKING TRAILS. IS THIS COMBI BOOT PROPER FOR THIS USE AND ARE THE PILOT BINDINGS APPROPRIATE FOR THE WIDER BACK COUNTRY SKI? AVAILABLE IN WOMENS SIZES?
Hey Randy, this might not be the right boot for a backcountry ski. The combi is designed for skate/traditional XC. You could probably use the pilot bindings, but you'll get much more control and comfort with a binding designed for a wider, metal edged ski. Believe there is a less burly/advanced women's model. However, if sized properly, there is no reason a woman couldn't use this boot.
WHAT BINDINGS WILL THESE GO ON???
WHAT BINDINGS WILL THESE GO ON???
I HAVE SNS PROFIL UNIVERSAL BINDINGS.
These will work with your bindings, but it is not ideal. They are designed to work with the SNS Pilot system which has 2 bars under the toe.
Salomon Pro Combi Pilot Boot
I've used this boot for both classic striding and skating and found it to work great for both. I really like that I don't have to change boots. I bought the boot a half size larger and find the fit good with a thicker sock. The only thing I don't like is the garish color scheme. It's not as bad as years past. But I don't like the large white tongue, and the big Salomon lettering on the side with the yellow, red, blue, and white coloring. Why not just black boots, with minimal or no coloring?
SNS all the way
I use these boots exclusivly for classic skiing, as they have just enough midsole flex to be comfortable, and they also have the attachable cuff that helps stabilize your ankle. I wouldn't go any other way than pilot system. In my opinion, they offer the most stability and control out there. I don't have a very wide foot, and these are almost uncomfortable, they run quite narrow. The quicklace isn't actually all that great, I find I really have to fiddle with the laces to avoid a hotspot on the top of my arch. Still a great boot though.
