Beautiful, fearless, and fast, the Salomon Women's Mynx Alpine Ski's fat dimensions and tech construction will take progressive women to the next level in the park, pipe, and all over the mountain. In the morning, this women's freestyle ski's 81mm waist helps you vandalize the powder. As the day progresses, use your local knowledge to find those stashes everyone else misses. All tracked out? Now head to the park. The Mynx Alpine Ski's Spaceframe construction helps cut weight for tech spins, while full width edge reinforcement helps this twintip ski take abuse from rails and boxes. At the end of the day, arc some turns on the groomers—the Mynx's Isocell Complex core helps soak up chatter, while preserving a lively, responsive character.

Bottom Line: The Salomon Mynx Alpine Ski is fast, fearless, and love's the pow. Remind you of anyone?

Demoed these skis in B.C., loved them, and couldn't buy them anywhere in province. I found them here for $500 less than they sold out for locally and received them within 5 days!! Shops here were not carrying them as they were too 'powder specific' and a 'niche market', don't let that deter you, I have only skied for 4 years (starting at 32)and ski them everywhere. They are light and playful yet handle everything on the mountain from powder to ice. With the mynx as my new ski buddies I've had the confidence to tackle new terrain and conditions with enthusiasm rather than trepidation. They've definitely advanced my skiing. So happy with the skis and the top notch service!

I'am interested in buying these skis but I am worried that

I'am interested in buying these skis but I am worried that because they are in the park/pipe category that they will be too oriented towards that and not fair as well in powder/ice/trees/off piste conditions. Is that the case? I plan to use these primarily in CO and I am an intermidate-advanced (mostly blues and some blacks) but I plan to progress to blacks/double black. I also love powder and plan to get into more off piste terrain.

Hey Carey,

The minx is a great ski, but may not be the right choice if you'll be spending your time in powder and off piste.

Although categorized within the Park/Pipe section, this ski performs very well on piste on groomers. It has a very forgiving sidecut that most women enjoy.

If you're leaning towards a more "All mountain, do anything" type of ski. You may want to look at the Salomon Geisha. It's a bit wider, full woodcore (stiffer) and will give you the ability to ski powder/crud much easier with its suttle rockered tip. With that being said, it will also ski exceptionally on piste. It's truly the best of both worlds.

My girlfriend skis on the Geisha and I ended up putting my mother on a pair as well. You should definitely try them out, or try and demo them from a local shop.

Thanks!

Salomon Mynx Twin-tip ski

By:
January 29, 2008

I recently bought the Salomon Mynx skis and I love them. I can take them anywhere on the mountain and they are playful and fun. It takes getting used to carving turns on them if you are new to twintips, but after a few runs the skis feel like an extension of me. They like groomers, they love powder and crud, and they are at home playing in the park. Now I am looking for jumps anywhere, and I feel like a kid again!
