Description

Sometimes, being one with nature means being smart enough to bring a jacket.

Being one with nature sounds like a great idea until nature is soaking you to the bone and offering nothing more than a few leaves for shelter. The Salomon Women's Minim Shell Jacket shields you from nature's wet (although beautiful) side effects. Knowing that this jacket is in your pack lets you appreciate even the more damp aspects of nature instead of hiding indoors.
  • ClimaPro fabric will keep you dry in those light morning rains while letting excess heat from your hike escape
  • Ultra-packable design won't take up much room in your backpack so you never have to leave this jacket behind
  • Underarm zips get rid of overheated moist air

I really wanted to love this jacket. I can't comment on anything other then the fit. I had another Salomon wind jacket in a size medium. I am 5'4 and 133 pounds. Based on another review I wanted to get the large but they only had the xl. Even that was small in the shoulders. The rest was true to size around the waist. I am pretty disappointed as I was anxious to try it out.

You have to try it.

I got the Men's version of this and absolutely love it. It is incredibly lite at 9.5 oz and packs up small. the material does not breathe as incredibly as other materials on the market, but I think it does as good of a job as goretex. This jacket really conforms to your head or helmet which is huge on the go and when the wind is blowing. It accommodates for a helmet nicely and seats well with a harness. I have taken this jacket with me for every long trail run, climb and backcountry skiing adventure for the last 6 months and it has held up beautifully. I only wish the hood had adjusters instead of elastic but it conforms to the head and or whatever you are carrying nicely. I have worn it at least once a week in this period and so fare it is well worth the money.
