Salomon's Malamute Snowboard Boot is the top dog in their Authentic line. This puppy is made for aggressive riders who need explosive power. Power Frame construction allows immediate and direct transmission of power to your board. The Malamute's stiff flex provides long-lasting power and Biocage construction protects against breakdown and pack out. Salomon also added a Sensiflex sole for precise board feel. When you're coming out of a straightline couloir run, the Malamute Snowboard Boots help you ride it out with ease.

Bottom Line: Be the big dog on the mountain with the Salomon Malamute Snowboard Boots.

second pair

By:
April 12, 2007

i love these boots. they fit my narrow feet well, and every day they form to my feet a little bit more. This is the second pair i have bought, so i have a backup when my other pair goes. The only thing i didn't like about the boots is the inner kevlar laces broke several times on me (That pair is from 2004, so there may be upgrades on the new model). granted i put over 200 days in the boots, and Salomon's warranty department fixed them for free. overall... sweet !

Great Boot

Just out of the box they fit perfect, even better lacing system. Super support and stiff for extra aggressive riding but still very comfortable, really helped holding an edge. Hoping to ride them a lot more this season.
Thanks

Malamute

By:

These boots F-ing rule. Salomon continues to redefine the features of their products each year and I love the new upgrades. These boots usually last around two hundred days of hard charging backcountry with an occasional resort groomer or tree run mixed into the abuse of this boot. I would not buy another boot ever again and will only continue to replace my older models with the newer malamute about every two years. Simply put these boots offer the best support, comfort and responsiveness any boot on the market has to offer.

Great Boot

By:

This is my second pair of Malamute boots, the last held up well to my abuse. I will no longer buy Salmon snowboards as I break them frequently and the company stopped replacing them. The boot however seem to be built well and stand up as long as they should. i ride hard and my last pair of boots outlived 4 boards. They are stiff and designed for big mountain riding and not really a park boot, but they are great at handling speed and backcountry. Comfortable to hike in as well!
No complaints.

Exactly what I wanted!

By:
February 28, 2007

This was the first year I decided to try so many different boots, I tried all the Burtons but they seem to lack that secure comfortable fit on the upper shin and calf. I was anything but impressed with the Burton boots.
Anyway, this was my First season with this boot and I couldn't be happier! Not to stiff (but very responsive) and not to soft ( but super comfy for hiking and riding all day) Takes a coupl'a minutes to lace up for the day, but once your in... your in. No more stopping to relace and re-tighten. The big draw back with these boots is that they do not fit well with my Burton Idiom bindings. So, I have been using my old Mission bindings and all is good now! Anybody want a pair of Burton Idioms for a good price?!

gnarly with a capital GNAR

Super boot...stiff and comfy. Super warm. I think they put in this little neoprene flap over the toe on the liner which keeps my little piggies warm- in New England- during a blizzard when it's -17F! I love them.

Sick boot

By: Backcountry.com Employee
December 7, 2006

Have had the malamutes for the past 3 seasons now. Sick freeride boots, boot won't lose any of its stiffness, and super comfortable with the custom fit liners. Lacing system is very easy to use, and the tread on the boot makes them great for hiking up that gnarly ice covered boot pack. Only complaint is they don't interface right with my Burton C60s and I have to get a different boot, if that weren't the case I wouldn't look anywhere else for a really responsive/comfy freeride boot.
