Goiiiiiiing down.

If you're not happy until you're trying to stop your teeth from chattering, your knees from shaking, and your bowels from loosening right up when you're on top of a line, Salomon's Ghost Max 130 Ski Boot might not be for you. If you live for that teeth-chattering, knee-knocking, sphincter-quivering feel, though, buckle it down and get ready to use every ounce of the burly 130 flex and hard-charging design.

The Ghost Max 130 is the stiffest, burliest boot that Salomon makes, so it's not really interested in compromise. It wants to go fast, big, and hard, and it provides a super-stable platform via two Backbone screws that keep the flex rock solid and Salomon's 24mm oversized pivot, which prevents unnecessary lateral flex so you always have killer edge feel, power transmission, and the stability to rip big skis as hard as you can. There might only be two buckles, but they're both oversized to serve up tons of lockdown control, and they're topped off with a giant 50mm powerstrap that cinches the cuff down around your shin to give you a super-snug fit and help eliminate shin bang.

Salomon also employed its Twinframe shell construction in the Ghost. By using different plastics in certain areas, it was able to make the Ghost super-stiff in key zones and softer in others, so you have tons of power without the uncompromising plug-boot feel of other hard-charging boots. You can actually take the Ghost on and off without crying, too, which is a sweet bonus for all you tough guys. The Salomon Cushioning System tongue also helps take the sting out of big airs and hard landings, so you can keep skiing instead of icing your shins, and the My CustomFit Pro liner can be heated to mold to the contours of your foot. Even the sole comes with interchangeable rubberized lugs, so you can scramble up rocks to the top of your line without taking a tumble and rag-dolling down a giant face.
