The Salomon Women’s Geisha Ski was born for freeriding, but it’s also a multi-tasker at heart and tends to show off in crud and corduroy. The ski’s innovative, big-mountain build will keep you coming back for more. That’s just how the Geisha likes it.
Full wood core provides a lively, playful feel, while basalt dampens vibrations and bamboo lends lightweight strength
Wide edges maintain a solid feel and stand up to tons of abuse
Rocker technology places traditional camber underfoot with reverse camber in the tip for excellent powder flotation plus maneuverability on hardpack
Edgy Monocoque construction provides solid edge grip with minimalist, lightweight design
Raised tail gives you the option to toy with switch riding
A near-100mm waist feels very stable in powder, while ample sidecut lets you cruise fast and hard on the groomers
Bottom Line: Lively, intriguing, and playful. You can’t help being drawn in.
The Geisha is an amazing all around/all mountain/all conditions ski. So far, I have used it mostly for touring- from hardpack to breakable crust to deeper powder, and the reverse camber construction combined with a wood core and good side cut allow for superb performance in all those conditions. The graphics are specifically for women, but it is the same ski as the Salomon Shogun..so its fun to have a ladies version that isn't "dumbed" down. If you are looking for an advanced to expert all terrain ski- with superb capabilities in big mountain and off-piste terrain- this would be an excellent choice. I am 5'8 and medium build, expert skier, and ride the 173cm.

Hi, I recently demoed the Dynastar Exclusive Paradise and the Rossy S110. I loved them both but felt better on the Paradide on groomers. The Rossy felt better on the bumps but only slightly. I want a ski that will do well in deep snow but also out east (I do have a pair of stiff skied K2s for the icy days out east). How would the Geisha compares to the Paradise and the S110?
I just skied these skis for the first time yesterday and I was really impressed. I usually ski a 182, but the wood and bamboo core kept these ski stable at high speed and nimble in more technical terrain. This is an awesome all mountain ski, I will take it everywhere.
I got the Geishas at the beginning of the ski season and they proved themselves all year long. The Geishas are my everyday go to ski. They are fat enough to rip in the powder and stiff enough to charge through the skied up crud. I recommended them to my girlfriend and she put a touring set up on them and loves them as well for front and back country. The graphics are sweet. You can tell they are lady graphics but not over the top pink and flowery. Another great Salomon product for women who want to charge the whole mountain.
I bought these looking for a powder ski, never having skied them. Wow, was I impressed. I had a smile on my face all day. While they don't carve quite as well as my stiffer skis, they charge and respond beautifully in the powder. They are super light-weight making them easy to maneuver and perform well in the push piles. It seems they turn on demand, but seem to hold an edge when I need them to. I highly recommend these skis to anyone looking for a powder ski, who also needs them to handle in variable conditions as well.
I am 5'7' and 160 lbs and an older expert skier. Which ski is best for Colo snow in Summit Cty....Volkl Aura or Salomon Giesha and what length? I would like a ski that I can use just about all conditions and all mt.
Get the Geisha, the moderate tip rocker makes it ski much much much better all mountain than the aura. The aura is a stiff and traditionally cambered, which makes for a great groomer ski and a lousy off piste ski. The geisha however has traditional camber under foot with a moderate amount of tip rocker. So, the geisha still rips hardpack, but will be way better off piste than the aura.
I wanted a ski for Colorado that I can use as "every day" ski. I bought the Geishas without trying them. I skied them in Winter Park in Colorado in January, we had less snow, almost no powder, but hard packed snow and sometimes even icy slopes. The Skis performed very well in all conditions. They turn very easy and are even good to handle on hard snow and groomers. I am not a good mogul skier, but even in the moguls they were fine and also good in tree runs. I am not an expert skier, but doing ok on black diamond runs. When we had 4 inch of new snow I took the skis to the bowl and it was so easy to ski them, I am looking forward to seeing how they will perfom in deep powder. This is a ski I can really recommend and its definetly not for experts only.
Trying to decide between the Geisha, the Rossi BC Pro 110 and the Volkl Kiku. I know they're all different waist widths but all claim to be a great all mountain ski with focus on powder. I'm on volunteer patrol at Winter Park, CO, and need a ski primarily for powder (50%), bumps (30%), and groomers (20%) but I want at least a 95 width at the waist. Anyone got an opinion or recommendation?
You're looking at two slightly different skis. The 110 and the kiku have rocker in both the tip and the tail, while the geisha only has tip rocker. That will make the geisha finish turns more traditionally on the hardpack, while 110 and kiku will be more nimble and surfy/slashy in the pow. My suggestion: get two, geisha for everyday and either 110 or kiku for pow. Everyone needs another pair of skis. :)
I may not be quite the level you are, but I recently demo'ed all 3 of these, plus the Mantras. I am in LOVE with the Geishas. I could learn to love the Kivus, but think the Geishas were better on more kinds of terrain. I responded to them immediately, where every ski I've tried in the last 7 years has taken a lot of getting used to, and many I never really fell for. I didn't get much time on the Rossi's and conditions sucked that day, so I can't make a fair comparison of those.
hey JB- haven't skied the other 2 products, but the Geisha is an amazing all around versatile ski and performs well in varying conditions. You will love the reverse camber for its stability, speed and flotation in the powder, as well as its basalt & bamboo construction that provides good absorption in the bumps, and all with a nice side cut for groomers and hard pack. This would be great fit for you for high performance and reliability as a patroller on skis on mixed condition days.
With 100 underfoot, the Geisha, which is the exact same ski than the Shogun, should make you the happiest ski patroller of Winter park. No kidding, this ski is amazingly versatile and if you aim to use it on a mix of terrain, I don't recommend you to go over this footprint. They'd be too wide for 50% of your skiing time (bumps and groomers). Cherry on the cake, with its Basalt and bamboo layering system, the Geisha is one of the most lively ski of the market. Easy, fun and playful on all terrain, and any conditions.
