Salomon Fury Shoe - Men's - 2008 BCS

As far as looks are concerned, the design is pleasing to the eye. I found the shoe to be comfortable although the shoe could use more arch support. The shoe is not very warm after wearing them on a cold Michigan winter day the cold air doesn't take long to penetrate the top side material. The shoes does get exceptional traction and are lite weight by design. The water resistant material makes the shoe shed water quickly and they are easy to clean. Overall I would recommend this shoe. The quality of the shoe was definitely above average.

First the good things:
Very comfortable - and great for high volume feet
Great looking design.

Now the bad stuff:

After three days the lace snapped while tightening the shoe. I call Salomon and told them about it. They said they were sending a new lace in the mail that day, but didn't explain how they heck i would be able to put it in given that this is not a traditional lace. That was 15 days ago, and i got a damn thing from Salomon. I expected better quality and better customer service.

These shoes are just plain great.

The black on black design is quiet, yet aesthetically pleasing. After a full season of daily use, including mountain crossings and river fjords, these shoes have no significant signs of wear. They are light and breathable, yet supportive enough. Above the sole they're about as waterproof as a pair of socks, but they dry quickly. The speed lacing system seems more hygienic than traditional lacing systems, and it's also nice that the shoes have no animal parts. I found these shoes to fit precisely as expected.

Trails around here in the mountains of the Chihuahua Desert are laden with small rocks (1", 2", 4", 6"). Soles are a little thin and not rigid enough for the task. Can feel just about every rock I walk on. And, fit is bit tight. I normally wear 11 or 11.5. Bought the 12s and they're still tight. Stylish shoe, though.
