Salomon Fast Wing Hoody II - Men's - 2010 BCS
Available Colors / Styles
When you’re heading out the door into uncertain weather, prepare yourself by carrying the Salomon Men’s Fast Wing Hoody II. This jacket is so small and light it fits into your palm once it’s tucked into its handy storage pocket, and stays there with the help of an elastic hook-and-loop strap. When the cold front rolls through and the wind picks up, pull on the Fast Wing and let the wind-blocking ClimaWind fabric do its thing. You won’t be stewing under the shell as you run, thanks to the fabric’s high breathability and the simple but effective underarm air-vent slits. Raglan sleeves help you stay mobile, while thumb loops on the cuffs keep the sleeves in place.
Bottom Line: Be prepared without having to load yourself down.

Super lightweight, great for running

This jacket is definitely lightweight. It's hard not to bring it on runs and hikes since it takes up little space and weight. I am the photographer for a high altitude running camp (steensmrc.net) and this summer I brought this jacket on our "Big Day" which included below 45 degree wind at over 9,000ft in elevation. It was cold! (see pic). But I threw this jacket on, pulled the sleeves over my hands and the hike was tolerable. The day generally warms up so I didn't have much else on, just lightweight running gear. I already had to carry a pack with all my camera gear, but when it was time to take the jacket off, I didn't even notice it in my pack.
I would recommend this jacket to anyone who needs a small, lightweight wind barrier for running and/or hiking.
I'm just under 6'1 and 160lbs and the large fits me; perfect for running.
No recommendations on a thin but insulative soft shell with a hood. I like my Stoic Welder Lo Softshell (http://www.backcountry.com/stoic-welder-lo-softshell-mens), but its not really insulated

Stop complaining, eat a burger, and while you're at it, you might want to feed your dog as well, lol. Yes that is exactly why they changed it because it didn't sell at all in my Jackson shop. They changed the sizing to fit our market and had you checked backcountry.com size guides it would have told you that.
Thank you backcountry.com for putting those size guides out on every item. This is the reason I buy off your website instead of needing to see it in person.
Change me.
