Falcon CS Ski Boot - Men's

The designers at Salomon know that a boot’s performance depends on its fit, so they created the Men’s Falcon CS Ski Boot. Salomon’s My CF Pro liners and heat-moldable shells conform to your feet like a second skin, so you get maximum control and contact on the mountain. Power through your alpine turns by customizing the buckle positions--micro-adjust them to just the right tightness, and vertically adjust the power strap for the optimum forward response. With a 98-millimeter last, the Falcon CS Boot doesn’t allow any sloppy wiggle room, which is ideal for those with narrow feet or just a determination to maximize power transfer. An Energyzer shell reinforcement helps maintain a consistent flex as you charge from precise mogul turns, to powerful crud turns, to an end-of-the-day 720 in the park.

Bottom Line: Feel the snow, be one with the snow.

the idea of this ski boot is that it can be expanded. the custom shell on the feet area will be expanded after heating and customising the boot. it is same idea as in the inner boots.....An additional note. The parts of the shell which can be molded are the two black inserts running from the forefoot back. Check whether they cover the problem area of your foot. In my case, I have a large protrusion on the inner ankle but the moldable insert does not extend back that far so the boot cannot help me. The narrow heel feels great though so the boot is great for people with narrow heels but wider forefeet since the forefoot can be heat expanded rather easily.

It was time for new boots and after three rounds of trying boots that didn't fit (many hours wasted) I found these one. OK, they were a bit more than I had planned to spend, but what a difference. The inside is very welcoming but yet tight and snug all around the foot. The heal-grip is tight. My feet has some bones that were problematic it the other boots I tried (Lange Fluid 100 and 120, various Nordica, Dabellos, Salomon etc) but there was no pain from the beginning in these boots. After they have been headed and fitted - fo'get abo'it!

1st day on the slop - the flex 90 stiffens up nicely, still tights and hard enough for good control when carving. After 4 hours, my feet were still fresh.

$600 is a lot of money but you'll have these boots for 5-10 yrs depending on use, I consider it a totally worthwhile investment and wish I've bought them earlier!

Is the liner in the cs the same as the liner in the cs pro?

No, the CS pro has a higher quality 3 layer thermomoldable shell rather than the 2 layer of the CS & you can see they are different when compared side by side. When you try on the boots back to back, the CS pro liner feels a little harder which hopefully means it won't pack out as quickly & this seems to be supported by users. On various forums, buyers of the CS have reported that the liner doesn't seem as durable as they expected & that it packed out too quickly.

This boot rocks!

Great all mountain boot with unparalleled fit. Very light, feels like a glove fit with no hot spots. I have always skied a custom foam liner with footbed and I think this fits better. I ski in the East where you need a relatively stiff boot to hold on the usual hard conditions. The flex is more than enough except for very heavy skiers or racers who want a boot that is really stiff. I would then go to the Falcon CS Pro. Boot performs well in all conditions that I have skied so far in early season including powder. Assume by the feel that it would perform well in moguls also. I weigh 160lbs for reference. Salomon got this boot right!

The cs pro has a 120 flex. However, it has two screws on the lower portion of the upper cuff, just above the heel, that can be removed to soften the flex a little. Although I didn't feel that much difference, it is subjective since others have told me they felt the boot was quite a bit softer with the screws removed. My guess is that it ends up somewhere between 110 & 115, but no one I've talked to knows for sure.

And I mean that in a good way. They feel better on my weird feet than any boots I've ever worn.
