Rising to just below with ball of your ankle, the Salomon Men's Extend Low Hiking Shoe supports your foot for low-impact hikes on moderate terrain. With the Advanced Chassis stability system, the Extend Low protects your feet for moderate-terrain trail hikes. The Extend Low provides cushion to reduce fatigue, and a grippy sole that will keep you right side up. The insole reduces odor, cushions, and controls moisture. A narrower last reduces the bulk and increases the secure fit of this light hiking shoe.

Bottom Line: When nature calls for a casual hike, go for in the Salomon Extend Low Hiking Shoe.

Great fit, very sturdy

By:
March 20, 2006

I wear a light hiker to work because I am on my feet 7-8 hours a day. This Salomon shoe fits very well in the heel and fore foot with great cushioning for extended wear times. Recommend highly for daily use and a long-lasting quality product. This is my third Salomon product, and I have yet to be disappointed.

simply the best trail hiker out there

By:
January 30, 2006

I have worn trail hikers from the North Face, Merrell, Vasque. These Salomons are hands down the most comfortable, the best fitting, have the best traction (dry or wet) of them all. The cushioning feels like what you would expect in a high end running shoe, yet they are still so stable laterally. Really amazing. I just ordered my second pair from here.

Kicking up dust in Africa

By:
August 29, 2005

I purchased these light hikers for a two-month trip to the Sub-Sahara region of Africa. They are fantastic! I expected them to melt my feet in the blistering Saharan heat but this was not the case. I have used them in all ranges from hiking around the local villages to horseback riding in the desert. They work exceptionally, thanks for the wonderful product.

Salomon's

By:
October 4, 2005

I think Salomon shoes are the best things you can put on you feet. This is my second pair of Salomons. The first ones lasted me 5 years of daily wear. The only reason I do not have them is they burned up in a fire. There is nothing more comfortable or durable out there.

Great Shoe

By:
September 12, 2005

This is the second pair I have owned. These are the best shoes I have ever put on my feet. They are great for every thing you need them for. The first pair I had lasted me four years. The only reason I got rid of them was because they burned up in the fire when my house burned down. Salomon shoes are the bomb.

not bad, had better

By:
February 8, 2006

I just bought these and they arrived right before I went on a six-mile easy hike on the Swamp Fox Trail in Awendaw SC. The bottom of my feet hurt pretty badly after the hike, and I have no foot problems. They were new shoes, but I've never had to break any of these in before. I never got any blisters either. Initially, they are very comfortable when you put them on, but that padding seemed to disappear around mile three. Don't get me wrong, I love Salomon shoes and have owned about four pairs, but this was pretty unusual for this brand. I'm going to keep the shoes, but I'm going to find something else for long hikes.

Totaly Awsome Shoe

By: Backcountry.com Employee
August 10, 2006

I purchased the Salomon Low Hiking Shoe because I'm always on the go, and these are by far the best shoes I've ever had in my life! With the agressive tread and the OrthoLite foam insoles they are comfortable throughout the day with great traction, and have just become my new fulltime wearing shoes. I'm seriously considering getting another pair. Thanks!

I actually got these socks as a free gift with a purchase I made WOOOOT!!! I really like them. They have a snug fit and are very breathable, keeping my feet dry all day long. They are a shorter sock and are very comfortable. Great product. Thanks!
