    Comfortable yet Robust

    • Size Bought: 13

I was surprised how comfortable these shoes felt. I hiked Angels Landing in Zion National Park without any break in period and they performed very well. Good breathability, sturdy and light weight. I wear a size 13 shoe and my foot is normal to narrow width. These shoes fit well and I am looking forward to more hikes with them

    SATISFYING

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I bought these shoes for a Costa Rica trip that I am planning this summer. Obviously I've been breaking them in for the past month and wow they are great! I go mountain hiking everyday and the hard front is like a steel toe except, without the weight. They're light, comfortable, and get even better once they are broken into. Also, in an occasion I decided to try how water proof they actually were so I stood on the side of the river in late February(EXTREMELY COLD WATER) and I felt no temperature change nor a drop of water on my foot. Definitely worth the buy! Oh & they're great in mud too!

    Awful Shoes

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

I thought I was ordering a pair of high quality hiking shoes. The only thing related to hiking is that the laces are on top of the tongue using metal holders. Apart from that these shoes come with some fancy in-sole padding, but feel like I'm walking on cardboard. When I put them on, I immediately thought "cheap". I find it hard to believe they cost almost double what I paid for my New Balance, which are oh-so-comfy. What a waste of time and money. I shipped them back the next day. So, I got to pay $8 in return shipping just to try them on. Next time I'll stick to what I know.

    Eskape

I've yet to wear these on a hike but have worn them out and about roughly 20 times but do have a few things you'll want to know. Based on other reviews I had come across I bought these a 1/2 size larger than an shoe I own. Wrong choice. Even with thick wool socks my feet still have play in the shoe. I'd recommend sticking with your size.

The interior of the shoe is seemed right in the heel and some of the stiching is already coming lose. I don't yet know the impact that will have but who likes seeing that! I've worn these in the rain, snow and ice and have had no problems with water. I wouldn't recommend submersion to the ankle though! Lastly, you cannot run the laces through the tongue of the shoe so I find I am frequently pulling it back up out of the shoe.

It's well made, I just don't know if I'd recommend it for consistent, long hikes.

    Great hiking shoes!

Hiked Upstate NY area during the Memorial weekend.

Great traction and very comfortable - my recommendation for better result, pick a good socks too. Regarding to the size, I wear size 10 for Nike running shoes and bought size 10 for Salomon and fit me very well - hope this help when ordering a shoes from the web without trying.

    Worth every penny!

Impressive, after thirty days and wearing them everyday, they look brand new. The feel of the shoe is different than the trail running shoe, the tow box is smaller in my opinion. The sole is thinner than some of their trail running shoes too. Overall, I think these shoes are awesome. I really like these shoes, and for the serious hiker or person just not wanting to get their feet wet in the morning dew, this is your shoe. This is my second pair of Salomon's and I will be buying more.

    Tenerife

Bought these shoes in Spain and first used them running rocky coastal paths in the North of Tenerife.Comfort right out of the box and solid for running off trail, these shoes impressed me as much as the Tenerife scenery.

      Great shoe, but runs small.

I wear a size 8.5 in Adidas Samba, Saucony Jazz Low Pro, and many other makes/models of shoes. My toe came way too close to the front of the inside of the shoe for me to wear these comfortably. I was able to buy a size 9 elsewhere, as they were out of stock here, and those fit much better. The shoes are very comfortable even when wearing them out of the box. They have so far kept my feet warmer than any other shoe I own in these very cold January Minnesota winter temps. I highly recommend these shoes but would recommend you try them on locally if possible before ordering.

      Thank you Salomon

I've been looking for some time for a good light hiker shoe. I hiked Kings Peak with these this weekend. They handled the trip beautifully. They kept my feet dry with the wet weather. The sole was not too soft as I jumped over the many rocks. They were comfortable as well. I think Solomon and I have just formed a friendship that will last for years.

I bought size 10.5 which is my usual size but I wish I had gotten a size 11. They still fit well with thin socks. The treads are good in dirt but slipped a lot on the granite slopes of Longs peak. I would buy another brand next time and try for better treads and fit.
