The Salomon Dumont harvests the intellect of park and pipe wizard Simon Dumont, bringing insane levels of pop, edge hold, and durability to your own world record attempts. A wide waist adds stability and mountain-wide versatility. Wood-core construction and Double Edge Armor ensure that unless you really put the hurt on your gear, you’ll still be pressing, railing, and launching on this ski well into next season and beyond.
Wide Body 86mm waist for enjoyable performance all over the mountain
Wood core provides lasting pop and powerful edge hold
Angled ABS sidewall reduces swing weight and dampens rail impacts
Double Edge Armor: cross-laced polyethylene fibers between center edges for 25% less edge depression and 10% less edge wrenching
Sorry for the late reply but you have made a great choice. The ski will be more bomb prof than most skis out there because ot the edge armor. I suggest mounting your binding on the forward line for park. This will make the ski lighter, easy to jump on and off rails. Lighter bindings will help reduce weight, like a Salomon STH 12 bindings.
well for all mnt the dumont is stiffer but it is a core park ski. the el rey is softer but is built for all moutain skiing. they kinda balance out. personaly i would take the dumonts. get a 181 i'm 5'8 and have 176 armada thalls and they are awesome. as i said they are both a good choice but dumonts might be better.
NEED HELP!!!!! I just ordered these skis and realized I am going to need new bindings too. I recently bought the Dalbello Voodoo boots so what is the best binding setup to go with these skis and those boots?
YOu could really pick up any binding, tons of great stuff out there. If you're gonna be spending time in the park and want somethign that will give you the confidence to send some booters, maybe take a look at the Salomon STH bindings.
There are the STH 12, (new)STH 14's, and the badass STH 16. Depending on how big you are, pick the binding with the appropriate din range. The STH 16 are what I use, but if you're a lighter skier, you may not want that high of a DIN limit. All sick bindings, definitely go with the STH!

Hey! i have a problem. im 17, 5'7-5'8, fast speeds and an expert skier. i used to ski on racing skis but wanted to switch to twin tips. im considering either the dumonts or the salomon suspects. i do mainly downhill, pow, and go off the occasional jumps ahead. which one of the two should i choose? if you think these arent good for me, which one would you recommend? which size? thanks so much for your time and help :)
The two skis are very simliar. The major differences are only going to be effective if you're spending time on rails. The Dumont offers double edge armor, and the Suspect has single edge armor. THis Salomon technology has threaded wire that runs across the based added additional strength to the edges. (not a concern if you're just rippin' around on them)
The 176 is the most popular size, and sounds like it'd be right in your wheel house. The 171 is probably a bit too small, but if you're used to throwin around a race ski, you should have no issues on the 181 either.
Overall, great ski but there are definitely better options from Salomon if you're looking for a powder oriented ski.
i wanna buy these skis but am not sure wat length to get, i last bought freestyle skis 2 years ago nd have no idea the size of them. Im 16 yrs old, 5'9 and wiegh 150 lbs. Im an expert level skier wit an intermediate ability in freestyle but will be in a training program this winter. Is 171cm a good fit for me?
My son is 14 yrs, 5' 9", 110 lbs. His primary interest is park but does like the rest of the mountain. Advanced but not expert skier yet. I expect him to continue growth in higth and weight. I don't know wether to choose the Dumont or K2 Disorderly. Based on the above, any opinion as to which ski to choose and which size for each? Thanks.
The Disorderly is a good ski, but personally I wouldn't really use it outside of the park. It has a center only mounting position, with the same dimensions for tip and tail, making it great for park, but sloppy else where. The Dumont on the other hand is better for an all mountain approach to park ski, it has normal characteristics of skis, but still is great in the park. Get him like the 171 length, of in my recommendation the Dumont. The K2 Extreme or whatever they named it for this coming season is also great, and very similar to the Dumont, so that is another option.
I'm looking for something to replace my 5 yr old PE's and have narrowed it down to these and the Walls. I demoed the Wall today and it blew me away, does anyone know how the Dumont compares in terms of stiffness? I'd be using it for all mountain and park, so stability at speed is probably more important than butters... though I'll probably mid mount them.
When I skied the Dumonts I was also blown away by how well they held on firm snow and ripped like a gs ski. I'm not sure how they compare to the Wall... but they are on the stiffer side. wood core, definitely the real deal.
