Turn that miserable slog into a happy winter saunter with the Salomon Beluha WP LTR Winter Boot. Salomon made this burly, cold-weather boot with waterproof leather uppers to block out water, snow, sleet, and slush. And thanks to a new insulating material (polyester EVA), the folks at Salomon were able keep the boot’s weight low without sacrificing function.
ClimaTherm HD technology uses a new material, polyester EVA, to achieve a thin, lightweight insulation layer for use in temperatures between 20F and -13F (-7C and -25C)
Waterproof breathable bootie insert keeps the wet weather outside where it belongs and allows your foot sweat to evaporate
ContraGrip outsole technology uses a mix of lug geometry and different rubber densities to improve grip on wet, icy surfaces
Rubber toe and heel caps improve durability and block water and slush
I have mixed feelings about these boots. For the most part they are intelligently designed and ergonomically fit worthy. The details however are a bit more complicated. First Ill list the pros followed by the cons. They are 100% water proof and extremely warm, a little too warm actually, wool socks are not necessary in temperatures above 20 degrees, since the entire principal of being water proof will be completely negated by sweaty feet. They are comfortable, and have excellent arch support and a wide enough toe box so you dont get to cramped. There is also a clip for attaching gaiters and the heels are suited for crampon straps. The best feature by far is the ContraGrip outsole technology. While climbing a snow slope at an angle of about 65 degrees the Beluha stuck to the snow like Velcro, but we were running out of time and as soon as the sun was going down this snow slope started to turn into a ice slope but without fail the ContraGrip kept me griped tight on the ice and saved me from sliding into an icy death. I should have had crampons on, didnt take it too seriously and didnt want to take the time to put them on while the sun was going down luckily for me this boot lived up to what it claimed to be and more. Unfortunately there are a few cons. I did get a couple blisters my first time wearing them and I did get a strangely sore ankle where the lace ties across. I their defense the first time I wore them we hiked for around 8 hours and climbed an elevation of 4k for around 16 miles. I have never had to break in boots before but I have also never hiked that far the first time in boots, so it may be my fault. So in conclusion; great boot, saved my life, extremely warm, and just break them in before going the distance. This boot will Beluha your mind!

Can anyone tell me if these boots are true to fit, or should they be ordered a 1/2 or full size up or down? Keep in mind they'd be worn with winter socks -- SmartWool or similar. Thanks.
I tried them on with two pairs of socks, one mid thick wool. Seemed snug but OK on my mid-foot, but spacious in the toe, when trying on a boot of my typical shoe size. I have relatively narrow feet, so, if you're wide I would step up a 1/2 size.
I bought this boot for snowshoeing and snow hiking. Took them from the tram at San Jacinto to the peak on the first outing. Warm, good fitting shoe that looks a little like a rain boot in that it is wide and a little clunky looking. No blisters after 5 hours and my feet were not overly hot either, while my friend had wet feet in the wet SoCal snow. My only complaint is that this boot is kind of close to the weight of my other Solomons I've used a couple of times on Whitney. I bought this one because the weight of a pair was spec at 1lb 6oz. (size 9). Granted, I am cursed with size 12 feet. But 1lb 8.8 oz is the weight of one boot on my postal scale. Hmmmmm!
Bought these for my husband to snowshoe on moderately inclined trails. So far, he only used them for a 2 hour hike to try them out. They kept his feet comfortably warm and the inside stayed bone despite getting plenty of snow on the boots. No rubbing/blistering during that short outing but he'll add a liner sock because there's room inside the boot.
Salomon Beluha are some of the best snow and hiking boots I have ever owned. They are warm and sturdy yet light and breathable. They also feature a gaiter hook--a useful surprise (which is not in the product description). I find that Salomon boots fit me exceedingly well; my feet neither slip around nor feel cramped. I use these boots both for snowshoeing in the back country and driving around town on snowy days. Yet again Salomon proves that it understands the delicate balance between ruggedness, fit and comfort. Highly recommended.
