Description

Ditch the crowds, pack your backpack with the TXL-F, and explore new waters.

Wickedly lightweight, the Sage TXL-F 4-Piece Fly Rod impresses with its sensitivity and ability to fish teeny flies with super-light tippet. Ideal for fishing small meadow streams, spring creeks, and beaver ponds, this freshwater beauty was designed to get you away from the crowds and deep into the backcountry.
  • Micro Ferrule technology enables the TXL-F to be 33% lighter than its nearly weightless predecessor (TXL), provides better energy transfer, and enhances your feel of the rod
  • Moderate-to-fast action flex gives you a versatile rod that's able to fish in a wide range of situations and provide good control and hook setting allowances
  • Generation 5 technology (use of graphite hoop fibers instead of traditional glass hoop fibers) makes for a lighter, more responsive rod with exceptional feel
  • Snub-nosed half-wells grip give you an enhanced feel in the cast, more control, and is ideal for those who like support of his or her thumb
  • Four-piece configuration makes it compact, easier to transport, and reduces the case length for backcountry travel
  • Bronze anodized reel seat with natural walnut insert and high-quality cork grip round out the components
  • Cloth bag and 5/8-inch antique aluminum tube protect the TXL-F during transport and storage
  • For an overall smooth casting system Sage recommends you go with the its Double Taper Fly Line and a Click Series Fly Reel (both are sold separately)

I've fished the 3wt. 7'10" rod on some super tight creeks in the Eastern Sierras and around our local Utah waters. Very fun rod. Does well in a variety of casting situations, be it a bow and arrow cast, roll casting, or backhand magic under the brush. Really fun to use when targeting small fish or large fish in tight quarters.
