Description

Puts the brakes on aggressive runs.

Long runs, varying waters, and a lifetime of grime and grit are no match for the large-arbor Sage 4500 Series Fly Reel. The 4500 provides smooth, powerful resistance without the weight of a traditional drag system thanks to its 3:1 geared, fully-sealed carbon drag system and innovative lightweight design.
  • Large-arbor design enables faster line retrieve, more consistent drag, and reduces line coiling
  • SCS (Sealed Carbon System) micro cassette drag design uses a 3:1 gear ratio that provides the kind of power and smoothness you'd expect from a large traditional drag system but without the bulk or weight
  • Self-lubricating drive gears and sealed graphite drag washers ensure the reel remains unaffected by sand, grit, dunking, or blistering runs over time
  • Strong, lightweight hard-anodized, aerospace-grade aluminum components give a lifetime of smooth, problem-free performance
  • One-revolution adjustment knob provides quick and accurate drag settings
  • O-ring system enables you to easily change your spool
  • Easy conversion from left to right hand retrieve
  • Sage's 4500, 4500CF, and past 2500 series spools are all interchangeable
  • Ballistic cloth and neoprene reel case protects the 4500 during transport and storage
  • If you're buying a reel or spool and fly line, we'll be happy to rig it up for you, please give us a call at (855)-712-0513 for details

Nice reel

Since I bought the reel and spool together, I'll review both. The reel is nice - it's light, smooth and I especially like the sealed drag system. The spool fits like a glove. I have yet to actually use the reel/spool because the weather in New England has not been condusive to fly fishing or casting. Once the weather warms I'll use them to cast on our lawn. I have some trips planned for May and June and it will get a serious workout then. Contact me again in July. Thanks
