Handle It!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Normally the pup gets outfitted with the Singletrak, but when luggin' water is not required, the Web Master comes out. Lightweight, breathes well and has a handle. The handle is amazing!

Gracie tips the scale at 40lbs and wears a size small.

Web Master Harness

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Product: I've had two Webmaster Harnesses for approximately 3 years now. They have close to 1000 "dog miles" on them, if not more. The assist handle is awesome when you get to those larger ledges to assist your dog up. They have been through mud, a lot of water, 115+ degree weather, sub zero temps, barbed wire fences, and lava rock. They hold up extremely well. There are a few snags on the back from the dogs going under barbed wire fencing.

Sizing/Adjustment: I have 2 German Shepherds at approximately 75 lbs each. I purchased Mediums for both of my dogs as they are fairly slender. Adjustment is quick and pain free. After a full day of hiking, drinking/eating, swimming, the adjustment around the belly changes often. With a quick pull on the strap you have it snug and ready to go.

Price: Pegging the Web Master harness and the best all around recreational harness out there, I would say pricing is awesomely competitive @54.99

Great Product!!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Fits our dog great, only upgrade i would make would be to add a place to hook a leash on the chest plate so a leash could be used on the back or chest. That being said it has been great to be able to just grab the handle and lift the pup over tuff terrain.

PICK UP YOUR DOG when terrain gets tough

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I really like this harness because it's essentially the ruffwear approach pack sans side pockets. The harness is well constructed, stitching is strong, material is durable---typical ruffwear quality.

My dog is 30lbs and the SM fits her. I primarily bought this harness so that I can more easily/safely transport her up/down difficult terrain, and it is much better than having her carry an empty ruffwear approach pack when I'm doing all the carrying.

It's great for carrying your dog and shouldn't add to overheating during summer hikes given it's small surface area (compared to a pack).

One improvement: make it in more colors than red & grey.

Awesome!!

This product rocks! My dog has little front legs and was always able to slip out of her harness, but no more!! This harness is so secure that she is unable to get out, which takes a lot of pressure of me when I take her on walks. Thank you Ruffwear!!

Harness has been great for our rescued dog Huck. We have had it for quite a few years now and the handle is about all we can see any wearing on (only the reflective material part of it).

Would definitely purchase again!

Awesome Harness

We have one of these for both our dogs. They love getting after it in the backcountry. We got a medium for one of our huskies and a small for the other.

This harness is a perfect fit for my Miniature Pinscher-Chihuahua mix. She is an active dog and loves to go hiking, so we needed a harness that would be comfortable all day on the trail and give me some quick ways to physically manage her when necessary. I love the handle on the back for getting her across larger streams, logs, etc., where she can't make the jump on her own. We use the harness for walks around town as well as on the trail.

Love this Harness

I have a Labrador/German Shepherd mix and he is around 90lbs. I bought the Large in Twilight Grey and it fits and looks great! I love how it has the handle at the top of the harness because my dog is still a puppy, so he gets excited around other animals, so the handle is kind of nice to grab and pull him back if I need to.

***This is a picture of the harness that comes with the palisades pack- NOT the web master listed here. I am showing this here to show the only difference (the 4 clips where the pack attaches) and the reflective tubing.

Deso

Deso is 31 inches to the shoulders, 85lbs and the L/XL fits him well but having the skinnier poodle chest, he is at the lower end for this size.

*** again this is the harness that comes with the palisades pack so it has 4 extra clips built it (that is the only difference)

This is a great harness

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

We actually got the palasades pack which uses this harness but has 4 clips where the pack attaches. If you would use the pack I would recommend considering it as it comes with the grey webmaster harness.

As for the harness though: We love it and Deso gets excited whenever it comes out of the closet and doesn't even act like he notices its there when it's on. It is built very well and sturdy enough to give Deso some help jumping up onto obstacles or even lifting him up (if you are going to make a habit of this consider the doubleback instead)- it seems to distribute the weight well and he doesn't fuss at all. This is also great for running with your dog on a bike trail where you would like to have a leash handy but don't want to carry it (we just pull a loop of leash through the handle and it is ready if you need it but stays out of Deso's legs. The design lets Deso run hard pulling me on a longboard without him getting choked.
