Save your puppy's fluff from the rain.
It's pouring out, and maybe you just really don't want to deal with that wet-dog smell when you get back from your walk. Or maybe your pup really needs some exercise but seems to hate the rain. Either way, dressing your dog in the Ruffwear Sun Shower Dog Rain Jacket can help. The DWR-coated ripstop nylon protects your pooch from the weather. The oversized collar offers a bit more protection and can be folded down when the sun threatens to appear. Side release buckles keep the jacket on your dog's back, not constantly slipping around or sliding down. When you're exploring the city streets in the dim light of an overcast evening, the Sun Shower has reflective tape for added visibility, not to mention a specific light-loop where you can attach a bit more obvious illumination.

Rain, Rain, Come and Stay!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
First off, I'd like to say thank you to Backcountry.com and Ruffwear for hand-selecting me to review this piece of gear for the benefit of the backcountry.com community.
We recently moved from the rainy (more like misty) PNW down to the Dirty South where crazy sporadic torrential downpours are the norm. Sunny and bright one moment, dark clouds and buckets of rain the next! As much as we don't mind the rain, the pup sure does; however, once she's outfitted with the proper coat, aka the Sun Shower Rain Jacket, she's good to go.
One thing we are diggin' right off the bat about the Sun Shower is the lightweight, packable waterproof fabric that it uses. Fold it up, throw it in the pack, and off to the trails we go. If you've ever been to the South, then you know that during the summer time it can get brutally hot and humid, so something bulky is definitely out of the question. In addition to being lightweight, the Sun Shower appears to have the ability to provide quite a bit of airflow underneath so the pup won't overheat whilst doing rigorous outdoor activities. No damp feeling whatsoever!
Gracie is 40lbs of pure lean muscle, so size wise, we opted for the small. Unlike some of Ruffwears other coats, the Sun Shower fits a bit looser, so take that into consideration when sizing.
As far as colors go, they are quite a bit more subdued (drab shall I say) than their other coat colors. Maybe future versions of the Sun Shower will be brighter colors?! One can only hope!
Durability thus far has been great. Although, we've only had it for about a month, time will tell how it holds up; however, if it's anything like Ruffwear's other coats, then it should hold up quite well!
Just another day in the South
