Description

No need for your pooch to Ruff it on the trails.

If there is anyone that loves getting out on the trails more than you do, it's your four-legged pal. Make sure he has enough water without having to weigh yourself down with extra bottles or (yuck) share you own bottle; have him carry his own in the Ruffwear Singletrack Pack. This pack features two saddle bags, each equipped with a 5-Liter Platypus Platy bottle; additional small pockets carry snacks, a portable bowl, and poo bags. A lightweight, breathable mesh lining on the inside helps Sparky stay cool and comfortable, and five points of adjustment keep this mutt-pack secure no matter how fast your furry mate runs.

I got sick of rigging my running water belt into a belt to hold my dog's water, food and bowl. This pack is absolutely perfect and has fixed that problem. Now I can take June on longer runs and have her hold my water! BONUS!

I had been researching quite a few different packs before pulling the trigger on this one. Settled on the Singletrak due to its smaller svelte size. Holds enough water and treats for shorter distance trail runs & hikes. 6-8 milers.

Size wise, I went with the small. Gracie is a 38lbs Terrier-Dalmatian-Whippet mix of insaaaane energy!

This pack is a must have on every hike. We love it! While this will not hold enough water for every hike you may take them on, it helps eliminate how much weight you are carrying when you are out on the trail. My dog does not even notice the pack and he gets excited eveytime he sees it. Sits comfortably against the body and really only adds a few inches in width to each side when on. Carries two separate bladders that are included in the pack, but you may want an extra bladder or bottle of water if you are going to take an extra long adventure away from water sources. All around a great buy. Will be getting a second soon!

I purchased this very nice looking pack about a month ago. My dog Silky and I have gone on several hikes. My dog is beautiful, and the pack is very attractive. All I hear during our hikes is how good looking my dog and pack are! Don't get me wrong, I love the attention and dont mind spreading the word about the pack, but I spend a lot of my time telling people where I got my pack and thank you for complimenting me on how great my dog looks! I was able to eaisly adjust the bag to Silky. It took about 15 or less minutes. I put it on him and he was ready to go! It didnt bother him at all. He didn't try to turn around and bite it off or anything! He just wore it like it was nothing. I didnt have to go thru the hassle of him trying to get used to it. I love this pack. The only thing I dont care for is that the water bottles are too small. I need to get the larger pack. My Silky drinks a lot more water than they hold.

She freaked out when I put it on her at home to do the preliminary adjustments. On the trail we had to make a few minor adjustments and she didn't even notice she was wearing it. There turned out to be so many stream crossings to drink at she didn't want any water until the day was over. The handle comes in very handy when she is nosing in crevices I can pick her up and keep the rattlers and copperheads off her nose. She is an APBT so other dogs that aren't leashed, like they all should be if they had responsible owners, present a problem that the handle helps overcome. I can't speak about durability because of time of ownership.

This pack is great for short trips. I'd look at buying one of the larger packs for longer trips. My dog was able to carry about two days food for our two dogs in the pack. It's adjustable to comfortably fit on your dog. My dog carried the pack through hiking and swimming for three days with no problems.

There are multiple adjustment points, so with some fine tuning (ok, about 30 minutes of fine tuning) it fits my dog perfectly. He's a border collie/lab mix weighing about 50-55lbs and I went with the Medium. I'd say the size chart is pretty accurate, but if you're even close to being between sizes; size up. I've used the pack twice now, and my only issue has been the outer pocket sizing. When the bladders are full, there is barely any room in the external small side pockets for the dog's portable bowl (poo bags can be stuffed in without issue, maybe a treat of two). The only bowl that DID fit (I have 3 different bowls for multiple dogs) was my friend's small (27oz) Roughwear Bivy Bowl. Other than that, this pack is awesome.

We have both the Approach Dog pack and the Singletrack pack. We love them! Not only do they allow us to carry water for our dog but they also help keep our very energetic dog a little calmer in public settings. Riley is a 2 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

This was the first time my dog wore his pack - both water bottles were pretty full, and he did really well with it. He loves to pounce and hunt in this park, and he did that, plus running around at full speed with the pack on.

The bottles don't hold a ton of water with the medium size, but I don't mind because I just bring a little extra (for Utah mid-summers). I think if they held anymore, the pack wouldn't be as sleek or comfortable when he's running.

I wasn't sure how it would fit (he's part husky and his chest is very narrow), but it turned out just fine.

I ride mt bikes and the foothills here get very dry in summer, so water is critical. This pack allows the dog to carry extra water and treats/food/leashes instead of me! I have associated putting this pack on my dog with going for a mt bike ride and she is ready to gear up once I bring it out. when you use the water, you have to use 1/2 from each side water sac to keep it balanced, but that is not a big deal. The pack is streamlined and fits snug so does not snag stuff or bounce around too much. The orange/grey one is nice because it does give your dog some visibility.

great pack for mt biking with your dog

My dog (and I) love this thing. She is a 55lb Pitbull (mostly muscle - athletic build) and the Medium fits her perfectly. If you take a few minutes to test fit and size this thing right at home it fits perfectly on the trail and doesn't move a bit. It has good padding and I even use it to pick her up over big boulders that she cant get over herself.

Pros: Orange color and reflectors make it easy to spot when I wouldn't otherwise be able to see her in the woods. Water bottles included (0.5 L ea). Light enough duty to not restrain her activity at all but still carries water, snacks, collapsable bowl, poo bags, and small tie out. Perfect fitment with the straps. Very tough materials.

Cons: When you use one water bottle it makes the pack lopsided so you have to even out the water in both bottles each drink stop. Top harness loop is not very strong.

Overall, I was really happy with this thing and I leave her collar on as well, so if/when I need to leash her I just use that. This pack wont hold more than a days trip worth of gear, so if you are backpacking get a bigger one, but otherwise this pack is the perfect size for anything from walking to the park to a full day hike. I used a Sea To Summit X-Bowl Collapsable Bowl as my water dish and it fits in the pack.

My dog, Hailey(see guru photo), has never carried a pack before but got used to this one quickly and doesn't mind carrying it. She drinks just fine out of the bottles-no need to carry a bowl. The pack goes on easily and stays put on the trail. I like the extra visibility of the bright orange, especially during hunting season. I can use the handle on top to help her jump from the back of the truck, and the leash loop on top is much handier than fiddling with her collar.

Having her carry a liter of her own water lets me take her on longer hikes, and not having to put her poo bags in my pack is a real plus.
