Fairly Good

This leash is fairly good in the right situation. I usually love the length, but if your dog is real big and likes to walk zig zag in front of you (I know this is not Caesar Milan approved behavior), you will run constantly into the dogs backside. Otherwise, it is constructed well. Just train your dog to stay to one side.
the only leash we've ever had

We live part time in NYC and this leash is absolutely perfect. It keeps Ramsey close which is necessary when walking on the sidewalk given the number of people around. I couldn't even imagine walking around NYC with a longer leash.
We have one of these in each car and every place he spends a lot of time. We haven't had to replace any of them yet - nothing's broken or worn out.
The carabiner is useful to clip him outside of places he can't come into (not in NYC of course.....) or to clip him to a patio fence when we're having brunch outside.
And of course, the pretty colors help.
This is a photo of Ramsey just after a city hair appointment. Definitely not a mountain dog here.....
Great in all Environments

This leash makes keeping my pup close when necessary, extremely easy. I bought this along with Ruffwear's "Just-A-Cinch Leash" and together, they made a great pair for training my dog to behave on and off his leash. The only issue I've had with it is that the material on the handle started to fray rather quickly. Nothing about the comfort in use has been hindered though, and the rest of the leash is so durable I doubt I'll have issues with wear elsewhere any time soon (if ever!). In off leash areas, I love that I can slip the loop (just below the handle) through the carabiner and leave the leash on my dog, instead of taking it off and worrying about setting it down and losing it somewhere.
