The Ruffwear Just-a-Cinch Leash was designed to conveniently correct your dog if he or she pulls. This strong and durable leash was made with a climbing-inspired nylon rope that prevents dogs from chewing through it, and the cinch lead design makes a loop that easily slips over your dog's head. Adjust the silicone stopper to keep the steel slider in place, and use the cinch design, along with your leash training, to correct your dog while you're out on walks. The tubular webbing handle keeps your hand comfortable while you're pulling Fido away from those disgusting things he or she loves to roll in.

    • 10mm nylon rope is just as strong as a rope used for rock climbing (and it looks like one as well)
    • Cinch design used for easy correction
    • Silicone slider provides an all-neck-sizes fit
    • Tubular webbing for the handle makes your hand comfortable no matter how hard your dog tugs
    • Accessory loop offers an alternate storage opportunity for pickup bags or other small clip-on items
    • Reflective for low-light visibility
    • Item #RUF0110

    the two monsters are defeated

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have two large dogs and have been using the ruffwear knot-a-least for the past couple of years. My GF and I got use to being dragged everywhere. But, we recently had to make a change with all of these icy sidewalks in SLC. These leashes have made our walks way less of a workout and more of a casual stroll around the neighborhood. We are in control now and it feels good!

    Added bit of safety

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've always used these cinch-type leashes since I can remember. The Ruffwear is great and both the purple and blue are bright in the day time and the small bit of reflective material woven in is a great added safety feature (pictured with camers flash). The material has held up to puppy teeth but I haven't let her go to town on it to test its true durability, there is only one snag where her tooth hooked it good. The material doesn't roll up or matte in hair, keeping it clean and making it easier to slip on and off.

High Quality Rope, low quality Slider

For the first couple of weeks I had this leash it was great. Seemed very durable and worked great for correcting my dogs pulling behavior. After several weeks of use however, the silicone slider seemed to loosen on the rope and tighten far to easily. Along with tightening, the silicone began tearing and I have a good feeling this slider will not last much longer. Overall its a nice leash, just needs a better slider!

      A bit too long

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used this leash quite a bit when I first got it but now really only keep it for emergencies or if extra pups are around. For me, living part time in NYC, it's just too long. I used to wrap it around and around my hand to shorten it until I just bought the Ruffwear Knot-a-long 3' leash.

It is pretty and easy to use, just a bit too long for me in the city with the number of people on the sidewalks.

10% the Cost of Training, Same Results

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I absolutely love this leash. It has made training my dog to behave on walks a million times easier and for only 10% the cost of training. Not to mention much cheaper than any other products used to help with leash training. Additionally, it's incredibly durable, with one exception: the handle. Although the nylon rope is in great condition and I cant foresee it wearing on me anytime soon (if ever!), I was surprised by how quickly the tubular nylon webbing frayed on the handle. Nothing about the comfort in use of the leash/handle has been hindered though, and once necessary, the fraying of the handle can be easily fixed with a little bike tape :)

I can finally walk my dog!

We've tried five different styles and brands of leashes with our yellow Lab puppy, but he's chewed through or pulled himself hoarse with every one. This leash is different. No heavy metal clasp to distract him and a cinch loop that tightens and releases quickly means we can just walk. He's stopped bounding forward because his doing so causes the leash to cinch--not because I'm fighting or correcting him. And it's convenient. It slips over his head and we're off. I love the reflective material woven into the rope, and that the rope is easy to hold and handle. I'm sorry it took seven months to find, but now that we have it, we're not letting this leash go.

My Dog is a fan... and also pulls less

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

        Love this leash!

Light weight, durable, easy to use, quick, and has even gotten my puppy to pull a bit less thanks to its tightening mechanism.

This leash is great because you don't need a collar if you prefer to let your dog's neck breathe free most of the time, like I do. The way it cinches if your dog pulls too much is also great. It's tight, but it's not cruel, and my pet ofter loosens up on his tugging.
