Hit the trails and get that tail a waggin'.

The Ruffwear Front Range Harness gives your dog a comfortable fit and a free range of motion for those long days of running and exploring that she loves. This easy-on, easy-off harness provides four adjustment points for a customized fit and offers leash attachment points on both the back (for everyday walks) and chest (for training or additional control). Padded chest and belly panels offer load dispersion for comfortable extended wear, and reflective trim allows for safety and visibility in low light conditions. An ID pocket stores dog tags and stops that annoying jingling.

    Better option than a collar.

I got this to gain some control on a dog that likes to pull. Honestly, I think it's a bit bulky but my dog doesn't seem to uncomfortable, no more than when she wears a jacket. If your dog is right on the top end of sizing I might suggest sizing up. My dog was an inch skinnier than sizing for a Medium and if she were much larger it might not have fit.

      Monster tested, zoe approved.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My furry monster tends to be a bit of a leash-jerker, so this is a great option to keep her contained and comfortable without resorting to a compression collar. Less drama-queen coughing from her when she decides she'd like to run away for the circus and forgets she's on leash, and more fun hiking, running, and playing. It's a teeny bit bulky, and I wish it were slightly easier to adjust strap length when the harness is on, but overall it's incredibly easy to use and well-made.

      Great Harness

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

True to size (just follow the chart), well put together, and does not rub any spots on my pup's body. He's a big boy (120 lbs.) so the clip in the front chest doesn't do much to stop him from pulling when he wants at something, but I'm certain the feature would work well on a small/medium sized dog. Lifetime warranty! Booyeah cooyeah! All in all, a good investment.

      Perfect for my pug

I got this harness for my pug. He's a bit of a houdini when it comes to harnesses. He can usually back out of them. He hasn't managed to backed out of this one, it fits him perfectly in all the right places, and he loves wearing it. He's been on simple walks with it and hiking in it, including in water. I'm a big fan of this harness. My guy is 30lbs, deep chested, and the medium fits him perfectly.

        Perfect for my pug

        Works Fine

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this for my 120 lb American Bulldog. I bought the L/XL for him and it fit just fine. He did not exactly dig it, but he did not seem to be in any discomfort at all. It was his first time in a harness, so he did not not know what to expect. It obviously made him easier to control like all harnesses. Bonus, I did not notice any sore spots from friction and I am thinking about upgrading my other dogs harness for one of these.

        Good value

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I first purchased this harness a couple of years ago and recently purchased another. These harnesses have been great for my small to medium-sized dogs (French Brittanys) but a bigger and heavier dog may find the support lacking. This harness is fairly basic but gets the job done and allows my dogs and me to enjoy both neighborhood walks and mountain summits together safely and without excessive pulling.

        This harness is the worst!

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have nothing good to say about this harness. I was using the Easy Walk harness before hand. The reason why I switched is because I noticed a little red mark on her chest. After reading the reviews on here I decided that this harness will help out with chafing. Instead it made it worse and my poor dog is suffering. After two days of using this harness (4 walks total) this harness has broken my dogs skin under her legs (see attached photo) TWO DAYS!

I was also under the impression that this harness will help me control my dog using the front attachment. The easy walk was pretty secure and could easily steer my dog. However with the Front Range harness it kept sliding to the side and felt like I had absolutely no control over her. I tried tightening it, but then she got the extreme chafing under her arm.

I attached a picture of her one side of her arm and they are present on both sides. I tried cleaning this wound for her but she is extremely scared and in a lot of pain and hid from me when trying to do so.

For fluffy dogs this may be an ok harness. But for a short haired dog this is a horrible harness and I am very upset with the misleading reviews.

        This harness is the worst!

        First harness

This is my first harness so I'm not sure how it compares to other harnesses. But so far, it;s work great. I use it with the slackline leash and I am able to bike my dog just fine with it wrapping the leash around my waist.

          Great for a big lab

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

She was so excited to get her new clothes. Tail wagging, knocking a beer off the living room table she just couldn't wait to put it one. The fit is perfect (xl, even though I told her was a m). No more yanking on her neck, make your dog happy...buy one today

          Great Harness

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The harness itself looks good on your pet. Easy to put on and make some adjustments on the fly, my dog loves it. Control your dog is the reason I buy the harness, I have the neck collar, but thought give the harness a try. So far it works, snug fit so no worry about my dog slips through. Also I can lift my dog via the harness to assisst him back on my truck after a long day hiking.

          Boxador approved!

Harness is very easy to take on/off. Takes some time to get the fit just right, but straps are very easy to adjust. Gives great control for a pulling pup. I like how it relieves stress from neck as when waking with a collar. Fell much better dragging my dog away from cats without choking him! Size L/XL fits well for large frame, 90lb boxer/lab mix.

            Works Great

            • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Works very well with my German Shepherd. It gives me much more control over him when we are on walks then just his collar. Plus he can't slip out of it! I got a size large but he is a large framed 100lb dog.

            Happily Harnessed

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Lots of dignified colors to choose from that will compliment any hound's coat.

More comfortable than previous harnesses, again, I really hate that clipping noise all these things have, but I just put my ears back and endure that momentary unpleasantness. Once I'm in and good to go I know another great adventure is about to begin. Doesn't chafe against my leg pits nor does it restrict my movement as you can see. Very lightweight as well as adjustable. Stick to the sizing guidelines and don't buy with too much room to grow. Also this baby has been thrown in the washing machine without consequence multiple times due to the fact that I sometimes like to have too much fun when I'm out on the trails. The one downside is that if you are playing keep away frisbee with your human, wearing a harness makes it easier for them to grab you and take the frisbee away. Which is also kind of fun because then they throw it again, so never mind, maybe it's actually a plus. Highly recommend this harness!

            Happily Harnessed

            Super!

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Was looking at upgrading to a more substantial harness for a while and this one is great. Solid construction, very adjustable. As far as we can tell it is comfy on our little Jack Russell. And the real kicker is it is so easy to put on and take off. Size XS for a 14 pd JRT.
