I am an intermediate level mountain biker who proudly owns '08 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Pro Carbon.
Before this short I already own 4 more shorts from different manufacturers(Oakley, Zoic, Endura, and Fox). Endura's zipper fell off after few rides. Fox short is very tight fitting and quality stinks.
I never heard of Royal Racing but I decided to give it a try since it was on sale and it has excellent reviews.
This is the absolute best mountain bike short I have ever worn! I love the side velcro waist to fine tune the fitting. The cut is perfect right above the knee(I am 5'11"). It is very comfortable and light. I can wear this thing all day! I loved it so much that I bought 2 more pairs(One for my my father in law).
Love it love it love it!

First and foremost, these shorts came in size 30 which is a deal maker for me. They are really comfortable and dont hang too long. But theyre long enough to come over knee pads if you wear them. The chamois is great too. Doesnt absorb any crotch stink. Which... ya know... is a good thing. The not absorb part that is.

Picked up a pair of these early in the season and they are now my go to shorts for riding. Super comfortable, lightweight, and the removable liner is more comfortable than others that I've tried. So good I picked up a second pair when they were not on-sale.

I love these shorts. They are very comfortable and fit well. The removable liner is great because I definitely do not want them to be a permanent feature of these shorts. I use them primarily for the gym, so I have not used them for biking yet. The abundance of front pockets allows me to carry my MP3 player without sitting on it and my keys as well

Royal makes some outstanding riding gear. This will now be my third pair of Matrix shorts the first pair lasted two years of abuse and a couple months ago I snagged a pair off Chainlove. The Matrix shorts have a very relaxed fit, but they are not so relaxed they caught on your saddle. Just the right amount of pockets, and keep cool and comfortable even on hot days.

My only complaint is that the chamois is huge! I know it says it doesn't come with one, but it does. And it is way oversized.
