Roxy Eminence MTX Snowboard - Women's - 2008 BCS

I wasn’t really sure what to expect with the new banana rocker technology and magne-traction snowboards. I’ve heard so many things and know that people either love it or hate it. I guess I did expect to catch my edge a couple times during my first few runs (from here-say). So what did I think? I never knew a board could be so fun. I tested this year’s Eminence BTX Roxy edition snowboard by Torah Bright at a Loveland demo in November. The only complaint that I can come up with is, is that I didn’t get to ride the board longer! We got there around noon and by the time the board was set up and ready to go (I won’t go into detail about my burton binding mishap that stole precious minutes away from riding my new best friend) I only got the chance to take a few runs since the Roxy demo ended at 2:30. But as soon as I strapped in and took off down the run, I knew this baby was gonna be a fun ride! There were no awkward moments. In fact we stopped by the terrain park on the way down our first run and hit up a couple features (up-flat box, up-flat-down battleship box and a standard flat rail) and didn’t feel any ‘catching’ or experience any ‘funny’ landings. The board was so light, poppy and flexible that made my ollies and wheelies SO much more fun! I think I even actually ‘weeeeeee-ed’. I definitely bombed down the run a couple times and didn’t experience any chattering at high speeds. All in all, I felt like I had more control and maneuverability than my burton (non-btx) board. I didn’t catch an edge all day and had so much fun with butters and presses – way more flex than I though it would have! I have always been a bit of a burton snob but I really never knew a snowboard could be so much fun. I absolutely LOVE this board and hope to have the opportunity to try this out on a powder day real soon!!
