Built to handle hard-charging down big mountain lines packed with cliff drops, speedy turns, and backcountry booters, the four-buckle Roxa Men's X-Face Alpine Touring Boot doesn't shy away from its alpine boot nature. But that's not to say this thing is lousy when it comes to skinning uphill for another lap. The X-Face is relatively light, and it sports a hard-charging 120 flex with a progressive three-piece shell that keeps the boot crushing everything from big drops to steep lines without giving you a terrible case of shin bang.
Roxa's designers had your comfort in mind, giving you a shock-absorbing boot board for a bit of cushioning during landings or on hard and rough terrain. A polyurethane cabrio design shell provides a precise, foot-hugging fit while Roxa's 3D MAMS (Morphologically Adjustable Malleolus System) allows for an exacting fit around your ankle. When accessing your line requires some fancy footwork up a rocky, wind-blown ridge, the anti-skid rubber sole will be a feature you'll definitely appreciate, especially once things get more exposed.
