The lightest binding on the market.

The Rottefella Xcelerator Skate Binding is the lightest binding on the market—at just under six ounces, it's not much heavier that that energy bar you just ate, and will probably do more to help your skiing. Rottefella's been making bindings since 1927 and winning Olympics since 1928, so it probably knows what it's doing when it comes to getting skiers on the podium (just ask Petter Northug). Apart from being roughly the weight of air, the Xcelerator is compatible with the NIS system, which ensures that it has a wide, powerful footprint and easily adjustable positioning, so you can fine-tune your binding to fit your skiing style and the conditions. You can adjust the flex, too, with swappable toe bumpers designed to work in different temperatures and for skiers of different weights.

    Easy to use

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Having only had bindings in the past that you have to drill into place, this is a fantastic system. No drilling, so you can set them up yourself with the included tool. What's even better is that allows you to adjust the fore-aft of the binding on the ski over time if you want to fine tune how the ski feels.

Easy in and out, and secure hold. My friends and I have started doing a bit more fun types of activities in our training, like going off piste to do tricks including some jumping, which of course means a good amount of falling, and no problems at all!

    Perfect light binding

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

There is no reason to use anything else on NNN. Occasionally known to fall off in crashed, but thats the price for a superlight, sturdy, manual binding with nothing extra. Get a couple pairs to swap around on your favorite skis and you'll be set.
