High-performance construction fused with long-wearing comfort.
The Rossignol X10 Skate Boot balances high-performance construction comparable to its top-of-the-line skate racing boots with more cost-effective materials and features designed for comfort. Rossignol opted for PVC reinforcement at the heel and cuff rather than more costly carbon, so you still get the benefit of better power transfer and stability without having to fork out extra money when you're not out to win races. The X10 also features a roomier profile than the racing boots for better long-wearing comfort. Otherwise, the X10's features are all comparable to Rossignol's racing boots, with the same high-performance, low-profile X-celerator sole (new this year) and torsionally stiff Powerstrap cuff adjustment.
The boot features a thermal formable liner so you can customize its shape and volume around your specific foot shape, while the double lacing system allows you to tune the fit separately at the mid-foot and forefoot. The cuff features fore/aft adjustment and you can buckle down the ratchet strap closure for a precision fit, while soft padding under the cuff cushions your lower leg. The boot is clearly a step up from the more recreational X-8 boot, which has a hook-and-loop rather than ratchet cuff-closure strap, and a different sole. The X-10's more performance-oriented sole and ratchet cuff closure are geared toward the needs of more advanced skiers who enjoy long days of training while pushing the limits of their boots.
