X-IUM Skate WCS S3 Ski

The Rossignol X-IUM WCS S3 Skate Ski is the mush-munching monster of the X-IUM family. In order to provide a stable platform when you're making the final push to the finish line, Rossignol fitted the WCS S3 with a flex profile that can stand up to flat-out hammering. The 3D Profile Active Cap construction features a multi-directional fiberglass laminate to provide superior torsional stability when you're putting your all into every kick, and control Edge ABS sidewalls enhance the stiffness and stability of the ski, ensuring that you're not losing kick energy.

The Active Cap construction combines with the torsionally stiff elements of the ski to create what Rossignol calls "snake effect." By softening up the flex in the tip and tail of the WCS S3, the ski is more able to float (think slither) over uneven or sloppy snow, reducing the need to power through choppy sections of track and allowing you to focus on driving forward, rather than digging into mush. It isn't remotely noodley, however, thanks to a light and strong Nomex Honeycomb core that is has excellent compression strength, keeping the ski stiff and snappy for better kick performance and increased rebound.

Since you can't control snow conditions, you have to be ready for them all. The WCS S3 is designed  to be the soft-snow addition to your racing quiver. The camber profile is slightly taller than its X-IUM series relatives to glide over lumpy, sticky snow, and is built to flex properly in warmer conditions, keeping the ski stiff when temps are rising. An extra-hard white base is hydrophobic and allows for a deeper structuring, helping create a ski that excels in soft, wet, and dirty snow conditions. It has a low-profile carbon fiber tip that improves weight distribution, making it easier to snap the ski back under your foot after kicking, or blast through some lightning-quick step turns without a flapping, vibrating tip making you feel unsteady. The R9001 base is ready for wet and mushy tracks, and features a Double Groove Guide for enhanced tracking, keeping you moving down the track instead of across it. Rossi equipped the WCS S3 with an NIS plate as well, making it compatible with NNN bindings to allow drill- and screw-free mounting and adjustment.
