Description

What the world needs is a little more forgiveness.

A lot of folks think they need the best, most expensive board to learn how to snowboard. Bad idea. What you need is a soft, forgiving board like the Rossignol Women's Tesla Amptek Snowboard. The Tesla won't punish you mercilessly for making a mistake like a stiff, high-performance board because the soft flex keeps the edges from catching unexpectedly and the rockered profile allows you to slide the board around under you without face-planting. There now, isn't that a whole lot better?

  • Amptek Auto-Turn Rocker is 20% camber between the feet and rocker for the rest of the length of the board for flotation and playfulness combined with pop and tons of edge control
  • Wood 5620 is lightweight and durable so you don't lose all your pop halfway through the season
  • True twin shape for predictable turns, and easy switch riding
  • Extruded 4400 Base is durable and easy to repair
  • Soft flex is forgiving and makes learning easy

I'm a noob to the mountain and it's been tough trying to find a good board to start my no doubt, long lasting love for snowboarding. I've tried strapping on about 4 boards and finally found one that felt right. Me and the Rossignol Tesla meshed well from the get go and in no time became best friends. This little lady is super forgiving with her soft edges and rocker design so you can forget about catching edges and begging for mercy as you tumble down a double blue. Since I worried less about catching edges I was able to work on more aggressive skills. A blast to ride, I recommend this board to any noob looking for something they can play around and experiment on.

The Tesla is a Rocker board with little edge on it. This is because it is meant for either beginners, or for the park. It is a great park board because of its 'rocker' design. It is shaped like a smiley face (vs. a cambered board that is shaped like a frown) so it has less edge meeting the snow. Great in the park because it is impossible to catch an edge on this board. However with a rocker, you do sacrifice some of the pop as well. You also sacrifice edge so you may slip out more than with a hybrid or cambered board. You will really notice the lack of edge at higher speeds, steep terrain, with icy/groomer conditions, or in the park. This is not my type of board as I like an all mountain board with more pop and edge. I do ride the park occasionally, but my hybrid board is just fine for the few park laps I take on a given day. With that, I will stick with the Rossignol Diva or Frenemy. I would recommend to a park rat or a beginner.
