Scratch Girl BC Alpine Ski - Women's

At home in the pipe or the pow, the Rossignol Scratch Girl BC is a stylie ski built with female freeskiers in mind. But make no mistake, this ski can hang with the boys. The Scratch Girl BC boasts all the features of the legendary Scratch line, including Rossignol’s patented Weight Reduction System, lively and stable wood core, durable Rossitop cap construction, and a dynamic flex that progresses from stiff underfoot to soft at the tips and tails for a poppy, forgiving feel. But the Scratch Girl BC is designed with the female anatomy in mind and Rossignol’s F.I.T (Feminine Intuitive Technology) adjusts for a woman’s lower center of gravity and unique stance. The ski’s fat waist floats in the fluff, and its lightweight make airs a breeze.

Bottom Line: Whether pushing it in the park or playing in the pow, the Rossignol Scratch Girl BC let’s ripper chicks show the boys what true style’s all about.

Any of the Rossignol, Dynastar or Look lifter bindings are good and I believe will extend the warranty of these skis from 1 year to 2 years. Another binding to check out would be the Marker Griffon or Jester.

These skis are an excellent all-mountain ski for someone who dips into all sorts of terrain.
They are not very stiff and cannot handle very high speeds (I am 115 lbs and find they are not stiff enough).
They are good not great in powder.
They are excellent in the trees, especially when there is lots of snow. The tips will dive in deep snow unless they're skied in the backseat - something I don't really enjoy doing.

If you are a hard charging girl who wants a strong ski, grab the s5's instead of these. They are slightly bigger, stronger and can handle a higher energy skier.

I have the FS version of this ski, and I really like them, but

I have the FS version of this ski, and I really like them, but I am now looking for a powder ski that is good in deep snow and crud, from the review up above it does not sound like this is the right ski for that, has anyone skied this ski in deep powder and crud and liked it? or would it be better if I got a heavier, stiffer ski? If so any recommendations? I was just out in Alaska and I demoed the Volkl Aura, and I enjoyed it in the powder and it skied right over the crud, but it was pretty heavy and hard to control on the hardpack.

This ski really isn't wide enough to be considered a real deep powder ski. Heavier and stiffer aren't going to help either. Look for something with a soft/medium flex and some beefy dimensions. You will have to sacrifice a little in one aspect (hardpack) to gain in another (powder). It is up to you which balance is right.

these skis are really something. they're quick and easy to turn, and float in the deep like nobody's business. i found they handled the crud pretty well too and are still really responsive on the groomers. great for a touring set-up because they're so light. what can i say - i'm in love!

What touring binding did you pop on these skis? I got these a few years ago and love them at the resorts but have recently gotten into backcountry. Any suggestions?

Is there any technical change between the '07 Rossi Scratch

Is there any technical change between the '07 Rossi Scratch Girl BC and the '08 model?

If I'm not mistaken, the '07 model has slightly wider dimensions, larger radius, and is not built with the F.I.T. Core Flex design. However, be advised, the product on THIS page is the '09 model, which I do not think has been altered from last year's '08 model. Hope that helps. (adding) IMO this is the best womens twintip on the market and has been for about 3years now, so much so that a lot of ligher guys including some ski patrolers I know ride it.
