Pining for the loss of your beloved Rossignol Bandit series? Look ahead to the Phantom SC 97 and weep no more. These stealthy black boards are the successors to the beloved B94-Quad and B100, but where the Bandits fell short, the Phantom shines. Specifically, there is more sidecut to play with, and a full wood core under your feet, making the SC 97 a dangerous weapon not only out-of-bounds, but a monster anywhere inside the ropes as well. It’s snappy, tenacious, and versatile, with more of an all-mountain outlook than the point-it-and-pray Bandits, and a more accessible one-ski solution for a broader range of skiers. Don’t think for a moment that makes it less of a ski—remember there’s no more B100, so this is the plank standing one rung below the Phantom SC 108, the ballistic missile that makes the Chugach Range pee its pants. In its biggest size, the SC 97 is plenty of ski for most people, maybe too much for some, and just like Arsenio in Coming to America, it wants to tear you apart. And your friend too.
Bottom Line: The Phantom SC 97 turns mountains back into molehills.

It took me a day to get used to this ski but once I figured it out, it really performs well. It blows through crud and floats through powder while holding the line on groomers and quick turning through bumps. It's an extremely versatile ski but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who isn't an expert.
can you ride switch on this pair of skis? also are they compatabile

Yeah you should be able to ride them just fine on a groomed piste. However, it is a fairly fat ski underfoot(97mm) which is getting really close to FAT ski widths. It just will ski a little different then normal groomer skis. As for riding switch...it will work, but it isnt a symmetrical ski so riding switch will not be as good as with more symmetrical skis. Hope that helps

i got to ride this ski for a 3 day this winter. the first day i got a couple inches of snow, next day nothing and third day it warmed up and got heavy. The phantom is a solid ski. I would prefer something with a little more stiffness but the ski compensates with a super snappy attitude. it can get on edge and turn really quick esp. for a 97 under foot ski. it is great for someone that drops into some untracked or glade runs but still rips a good deal on the way back to the lift. It is a fun ski to ride and super quick to let you rip all day.
Can anyone tell me the wieght of these skis? Anybody using these

These are pretty heavy. I bought a pair at a local shop, and the salesperson recommended something lighter if touring.

Another surprise from Rossignol. This ski is so solid everywhere. It absolutely dominates in every snow condition. I take it in the moguls, groom, powder and crud and I can't decide what it does best. Buy it!

the only difference is the under foot measurements. the bigger the number the wider and prob. the longer. i like this ski but it is rather soft. be sure to have some soft snow to ride with but a great ski for sure.
