The Rossignol Phantom Pro RC112 fuses innovation with tradition to create the ultimate big-mountain mauler. Big, stiff, and burly enough to tackle anything from Teton cliff bands to fall-and-die Alaskan spines, the Phantom Pro replaces the 2009 Phantom SC 108 and ups the ante, taking zero prisoners on its way to ski-movie stardom. Old school race-room sandwich construction supplies brutal power and titanic stability at lip-splitting speeds, while fat dimensions help it hovercraft over neck-deep powder. An early-taper, rockered tip design dominates variable snow like a dungeon mistress and eases turn initiation in all conditions, giving the Phantom RC112 surprising agility for its length, but make no mistake: this is a big, bad alpine weapon built for expert skiers.
Metal and wood core sandwich construction for classic race ski feel
VAS system dampens harsh feedback and improves grip on boilerplate ice
Splayed tip punches through variable surface conditions
If you like to go mock eighty billion MPH down super steep lines or stomp big old drops, then the RC 112 are the skis for you! These things are S-T-I-F-F and the minimal side cut means these things are strait lining machines. As if the metal tip wasn't enough to let you know that these things were made for bashing through any snow condition, the metal in the core will ensure that you feel as stable opening it up through the Chunder as you do through the powder. These skis need speed and to be opened up, short radius turns will have you hating life on these beasts. The only way to approach tight terrain is to point 'em! Bottom line: these skis are made for those that like to charge HARD all others need not apply.
Hi everybody, every season y ski with a Bandit triple 94 ( Bandit 4 succeeding, amazing all mountain ski, very fun on piste and very nice off piste too, specially in thight chutes. However, now Im looking for a big mountain ski like the Rossignol Phantom Pro RC112 or a Black Diamond Zealot. Can somebody tell me if these two skis have similar skills or are very different. Can the rossignol goes on piste, even when they are 100 % off piste ?
just bought a pair of zeaolots and buddy of mine has rc112 all i can tell you is that the zeolots are like two bye sixes really stiff and mean, but won't turn fast without alot of motivation and have found that they do coreshot relatively easily other than that great
I have a feeling the Rossi's are still pretty badass on the piste. With a WC construction (wood, metal, vertical sidewalls) and a little bit of sidecut, they'll make pretty sweet Super G turns. I'm assuming the BD's are quite a bit lighter and probably ski pretty different from these...

Do Rossi a favor and bring these skis back! As good as a ski gets, from holding an edge like a GS race ski smearing turns in powder to mowing over crud with effortless stability! Whats going to save Rossi (Powder November 2010)? Good skis like this.
I'm trying to decide between the Rossi Phantom Pro RC112 in 198cm, the Dynastar Legend Pro XXL at 194cm, or the Faction Thirteen at 193cm. They are going to be my go to ski for everyday ripping in the Kootenays of British Columbia. Any suggestions?
those three skis are considered to be the three stiffest, hardest charging skis ever made. they are all very comparable and there are only slight differences between them. my personal favorite is the RC112. the rc112 will offer the exact same stability, edge hold and performance as the others but with a bigger rocker in the tip, they will be more maneuverable in deeper snow.
Ive got the 198 and I use it in the East as well as when I'm back in the rockies and wasatch. Its a great ski and because of the reverse camber has a little bit more versatility. the ski is totally bomber too. its definitely not a beginner ski.
If you're a big mtn skier, this ski will improve your game.
I thought I knew my speed limit until I tried the RC 112. If you're comfortable making three turns down the cirque @ Snowbird on whatever you ski on now, try it again on the 112 and you'll be able to ski twice as fast, make half as many turns and itll feel as stable as standing on a sidewalk. The rockered tip eliminates the fear of catching your tip at that speed and makes stomping cliffs impossible to F*** up. If you find the need to correct your line mid run the stiff, flat, square tail can shut down 70mph in a nanosecond or correct your trajectory off of a cliff when you think it's already too late.
I'm interested in the 188. I'm about 5'11" 175 very aggressive skier. Wondering if they will ski a little shorter than that or not, and other comparable skis that people have been on?
These skis charge. It reminds me of the B-Squad, but wider and with an early rise tip, which makes it easier to maneuver. This is still a stiff, burly ski that demands you to stay on your game and not get lazy. The sandwich construction with vertical sidewalls along with a square tail makes them work in all conditions. If you want a fat race ski, this is for you.
ever wanted to rip it at super g speeds throw the pow? ever wanted to be able to stick it and look good? then these are the sticks for you. super stiff underfoot with a nice early rise and a little bit of fanciness they call reverse camber. super stable at high speed. grip it and rip it
Why do you say "POW? We all know you are saying "Powder" so why don't you just say "Powder" and quit trying to act official. Don't be lazy - just type Powder.
If that is the case, do you know the running length? The reason i ask, is that i know I can handle a 194 ski in almost all conditions even thought im on a 190 now.
Will the 198 ski like a 194 because of the rocker tip?
Who knows why Rossi stopped making this ski. It is not as friendly as the S7 or S6 and will happily have your ACL for lunch if you aren't telling it exactly what to do. The ski flexes a touch softer than old B squads, but only because of the tip. From the contact point this ski feels every bit as stiff as a squad and makes an XXL feel like a child's toy. Mine called for old school Solly all-metal 916's, and that is what I gave them. This setup generally brings the gapers to tears.
Yes. Unlike some of the other skis rossignol makes (the seven deadly sins skis), this ski is very traditional, and meant to do one thing, charge! So there is only one mount point. On other skis like the S6 or S7 Rossi has several mounting points for people's specific preferences. Some people who buy those skis do more jibbing, some people do more traditional skiing, so they offer mounting points best suited for those styles of skiing. This ski is not as versatile. It is designed to ski big lines, and ski them fast. Because of this there is only one, traditional, recommended mount point. Of course you could always mount it a centimeter or two forward if you feel more comfortable with a more forward mount, but there is only one recommended mounting point on this ski.
Was looking at the RC 112 and BD Zealot coming from 187 xxl's. Looking for something with a bit better float but still has a good high end. Anyone skied this or the new Zealot's and can compare the two?
Dude you better demo,or by more than one pair.Do you surf straight lines too. This damp ski thing is begining to wear on me. Poolskis rossi skier also in need
This ski is a great ripper. I have them in the 198 and theyre stiff underfoot but still feels like you can make em dance like barishnikov. The early rise and square shovel also make em a bit more forgiving too, they dont squirrel out alot. If youre looking for something to give er and do it fast then this is your baby.
