    Back and better than ever.

    Built for maching through deep pow, ripping big lines, and sending it off natural features, the Rossignol FKS Dual WTR 140 Ski Binding is a burly freeride clamp that's achieved legendary status. That hasn't stopped Rossignol from updating it this year, though, with an adjustment that allows the FKS to be compatible with both standard and WTR rockered soles, so you can use it with any boot short of one with full-on tech soles. While you get added compatibility, the rest of the FKS is unchanged. The Full Action toepiece and FKS Turntable heel provide the best release and retention around, and the FKS still sports the most travel on the market, so you don't have to crank your DIN to femur-shattering levels just to prevent prerelease.

    Great Freeride Binding

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    Have two pairs of these on different skis set up with the CAST system for touring. Have performed just as you would expect from an FKS binding, flawlessly! Haven't had any problems with unwanted ejections, but have released consistently when needed. Only minor issue, and the reason I only gave 4 stars, is the plastic of the heel piece isn't the sturdiest and is getting chewed up a bit with boots/poles when stepping out of the skis. Not really an issue for me, but does detract from the aesthetics a little.

    The Freeride Binding!

    The FKS is without a doubt my favorite binding on the market! From stability to allowing a more natural flex of ski, as well as a more fluid initiation of the camber profile. There are few bindings that give the level of comfort left with the FKS under the typical conditions I ride: Steep slopes, choppy snow, plenty of side hits and cliffs.

    Along everything that makes the FKS/Pivot binding my all-time favorite, the duel 140 version allows for touring boots (AT Compatible) to ride as comfortable and secure as their alpine counterparts! Once I get my hands on Kitten Factories new Carbon A-Senders that are coming out, every ski I have with FKS 140 bindings (3 so far) will be touring capable!

    That Pivot Though

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    I've been skiing FKS bindings for over a decade now. From my early days as a park rat to crushing steeps and ripping tree runs, the FKS provide a bomber attachment, and in my opinion, the most reliable release of any binding on the market.
    The FKS can be a little difficult to click into in deep snow, the brakes are close to impossible to swap, and changing boot sizes will almost always require re-drilling, but all in all, the good outweighs the bad and FKS are the only alpine binding I'll mount on my skis.
    I'm really sad to be retiring my circa 2005 FKS 155s with the metal toe piece, but I know the new WTR-compatible FKS won't let me down.

    These binding kick serious ass. There is a reason why they are one of the best selling bindings on the market. They are extremely reliable. I have a few pairs that are still going strong despite looking like they have been to hell and back.


    As the name implies, this year's model is now compatible with both alpine and WTR soles.
