Depends on if you want to classic or skate ski. Classic, probably aim for 135-140. Skate, aim for 145-150. If you've got long arms, go on the shorter side, if you've got shorter arms, go longer for the poles.

I would go with 125-135 for someone 5'1". If you're set on these, get the smallest possible (140's)I'm 5'2" and I have 135's and they are too short for me. I'm going to size up to 145's so I would suggest you definitely get 140's given your height. (Sue S)

I don't see any 170cm poles (for a 6'3" skate skiier)

I don't see any 170cm poles (for a 6'3" skate skiier) on this site. -At least not in any of the less-expensive poles. What gives?

Quite simply, they just aren't that common. You may need to look at the more expensive ones that come in that length.

According to the standard sizing formula (height minus 20cm), you would need 147cm poles for skating. However, since Backcountry doesn't stock this size, you will need to do either: 1) buy 150cm poles and get them custom-cut to 147cm at a local nordic shop, or 2) go to a local shop and try out 145cm & 150cm poles for length (they should reach between your nose & eyebrow).
