Great ride that falls apart
Giving it three stars, because it just doesn't last. Bought one in January and it had two breaks in the side walls and the top sheet was cracking along both edges. Though it was maybe just my board or my riding, but a friend bought the same board shortly after I did....same thing. When I compare my Rossi board to any other board I find the edges are significantly thinner which I believe leads to some of these problems. Also neither one of us can keep wax in the base longer than a day.
All that being said, the board has to be one of my favorite rides ever! Has the edge holding pop of a regular camber board when on groomers and jumps. Yet, still floats while slaying the powder with the rocketed tip/tail.
Great ride poor durability.
All around awesome
This board excels in pretty much every condition I've been in. From waist deep pow to the park and everywhere in between. Couldn't be more satisfied.
Awesome All Around Ride
This is my second Angus, and I love it just as much as the first one. Great all around board. Can carve, jib and ride pow with the best of them. Amptek allows me to ride a shorter board (157) and it is good for all but the deepest fluff. Overall, a great board for just about any type of rider, the more you push it the more it can handle. And for the price, it especially rips. Enjoy!
I have to pick just one? Sweet!
I got on this board for a pretty specific purpose. I wanted to have something to ride on those days when I was going to be building a kicker somewhere and wanted a floaty board that I could ride switch on and spin with ease. When I got on the Angus for the first time however, it was hard to get back on any other board. The park board and the big mountain board seemed like more of a hassle most days, and I found myself just wanting to ride the Angus all the time. So what makes the angus so awesome? The all Mountain Amptek allows the board to float as if it was much larger while still providing the pop to really launch off lips and get up onto those rails. Rossignol's all mountain Amptek takes a normally cambered style board and brings the contact points in to the outside of the binding inserts. From there, rocker takes over and gives the board an early rise tip and tail. Carbon-kevlar makes this board a little stiff for the pure jibber but thats not to say you can't have a good time riding some rails and I found that once I adjusted for a little extra stiffness, I was really able to lock down some solid presses. But as advertised this board is truly awesome because you can ride it EVERYWHERE! from side-country pow runs to park laps the Angus will deliver a responsive yet playful ride for the intermediate to advanced rider!
See you on the Mountain
ANGUS! This board is awesome, not only because of the name but because of what it can do! the flex is great and the weight is right where you want it. It doesnt matter what day it is I am going to be able to ride how I want with this thing powder or park yeah baby! great buy you could get if for Christmas or Hanukkah but why waste half the season right?
