Added Flexibility on the Water

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This spare spool allows me the flexibility to carry an extra line for my Bamboo Fly Rod...I can have Weight Forward for Nymphs, and Double Taper for Dry Flies. The Evolution LT is a top-notch reel, and the spools dis-engage, and re-engage easily. The machined tolerances are very tight, and there is no noticeable difference in the reel's performance, regardless of spool loaded. I had a hard time finding this spool, so I'm extremely happy that Backcountry had it in stock. Thanks for carrying top-of-the-line products, that can always be depended on to perform!

Solid Reel

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Can't go wrong with Ross Reels: made right here in Colorado. This is my second spool for the Evolution LT and have been very satisfied. I broke my first one but Ross fixed it.
Pros: Lightweight, durable ( dont wash it or clean it); Ross Customer Service
Cons: Price (but you get what you pay for)
Bottom Line: Spend the money to buy a Ross. Its a solid reel
