Description

The buttery, budget-friendly park-to-peak ripper.

It's not often that snowboard companies roll out brand-new tech on a board that's priced for minimum-wage lifties and resort-town busboys, but the board designers at Rome remember what it's like to be broke, stoked, and riding every single day. The Rome Tour Snowboard offers all-mountain shredability at an affordable price to help you conquer the mountain inside the park and out.

The revolutionary NoHang-Ups 3D rocker profile features a large flat area underfoot with concave rocker zones at the tip and tail that lifts the contact points off the snow to cut down on slams while still providing a large, flat stable platform for loading up ollies and locking into rails. The guys at Rome laid up the Tour with tried-and-true wood laid tip-to-tail. Two zones of lightweight wood team up with poplar for smooth, predictable flex and loads of pop. Then they added Bambooster bamboos rods at the tip and tail to stiffen them up a bit and add more pop without using environmentally-harmful materials. The QuickRip sidecut makes the board ride loose at slow speeds for playing around in the park and ride more aggressively at speed for a powerful feel.

Fun All Mountain Shape

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

For the price you'll have a hard time finding an easier riding all-mountain deck that can go anywhere. I've ridden the board at Alyeska and Stowe and really enjoyed the No Hang Ups design. Super forgiving and easy to push your self to the next level. Every now and again I was left wanting a touch more pop and stiffness, but I think that's where the more expensive CrossRocket fits. Again, super surfy in soft snow, holds an edge in hard snow, and forgiving to progress on.

Silent but Deadly.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The Tour is a snowboard that flies under the radar while still being packed with shred-ready features. Harnessing the power of Bamboo, the Tour is super poppy and responsive, not to mention stable yet forgiving with the No Hang Ups Rocker profile and QuickRip sidecut. Top it off with the durability of the XTRD extruded base, and the Tour is ready to take on the entire mountain without breaking the bank.
