Loose and catch-free, yet hard-charging and responsive.

Blur the boundary between wicked park weapon and sacred pow stick with the all-mountain versatility of the Rome Women's Scandal Snowboard. As a sister board to the CrossRocket, the Scandal blends the hard-charging response of camber underfoot with the surfy, catch-free feel of 3D rocker at the nose and tail, thanks to its NoHang-Ups Pop profile. Its almost twin shape means the board is centered between the contacts with a slightly longer nose, helping the Scandal float through fresh powder yet retain its switch riding prowess through the park.

Sitting on the responsive side of things, this deck is powerful enough to drive in and out of turns with its camber underfoot, holding an edge especially well at high speeds with its QuickRip sidecut. This sidecut design provides two extra mid-board contacts that lock into hardpack without slipping out on steeps or through icy conditions. Glass Single Barrel HotRods are milled into the nose and tail, allowing you to boost over natural features and big park jumps. Additionally, the board's ButterOut Transition Zones elongate the nose and tail transition zones, giving you a smooth feel when stomping landings, buttering, and turning.

  • Almost twin shape (centered between contacts, slightly longer nose)
  • NoHang-Ups Pop (positive camber underfoot, 3D rockered tip and tail)
  • SuperPop Core Matrix
  • StraightTriax30 Laminate
  • Glass Single Barrel HotRods
  • ButterOut Transition Zones
  • QuickRip sidecut
  • SinterTrue base

Here's what others have to say...

I'm a very beginner rider. Like I'm barely linking turns right now. I got sold this board, but it feels so stiff. Would you guys recommend this as a beginner board?

Hey Jill,

What size board did you get and what is your weight? Those are two big factors in determining if a board it right for you.

It is a medium flex, so as long as it is sized appropriately, you should find this to be too stiff.

For a beginners board, I'd recommend a soft-medium flex board.

Shoot me an email with any questions!

I think the Scandal is a little too stiff for a beginners board. I'd check out the Romp or Heist from Rome. They have a little more forgiving flex.

Great all around ride

I haven't spent a ton of time on this board, but I really enjoyed it. The 3D No hang ups camber gives this board a predictable ride, and the upturned tip and tail make it more playful and loose in deeper snow.
